They have the opportunity to build a cozy home, forge romantic connections with beloved characters, cultivate crops, embark on exciting quests, and much more. Although romance does not take center stage in this installment of Harvest Moon, players can still choose to marry and start a family with their special someone. However, welcoming a baby into their home requires a series of preparations, such as tying the knot and expanding their humble abode.

In this life simulation game, players may have noticed that when they interact with individuals in any town, there is a musical note meter that can be filled up. Platonic friends have a maximum limit of five musical notes, while potential romantic partners can have up to seven. To initiate a romance, players will need to craft a Token of Love containing one red rose, two glass, and high-quality board lumber. Once this token is given to their desired partner, the number of musical notes will increase from five to seven.

Once players have distributed the Token of Love, they must proceed to enlarge their dwelling twice with the assistance of Doc Jr. Despite the substantial cost involved, this step is crucial to ensure that players have sufficient space in their homes to accommodate both a spouse and a child. Equipped with an expanded abode, players are now able to propose using a blue feather obtained from a blue bird. In Anthos, this unique tradition omits the exchange of jewelry. Feathers can be collected near the Harvest Goddess statue, where players can enhance their stamina and bags by obtaining Power Wisp Harvest Fruits. These feathers only manifest on clear nights between 7PM and 12AM.

Next, players should have a conversation with the chosen bachelor or bachelorette. If players possess a house, along with seven musical notes and a feather, they will be presented with the option to engage in a special dialogue, resulting in a marriage and the acquisition of the special marriage achievement in Harvest Moon. However, if these items are missing, players will need to double-check and ensure that they have completed all the necessary requirements.

After tying the knot in Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos, the next chapter awaits—parenthood. Unfortunately, the game doesn't offer an option to forgo having a baby. Once players enter wedlock, a baby will be on the way after a season in opposite-sex marriages. For same-sex couples, the Harvest Goddess blesses them with a child in a dream.

Following the dream or the announcement of the pregnancy, players can expect their child to be born 28 in-game days later in The Winds of Anthos. Once the baby arrives, players will receive frequent reminders to return home and care for their precious bundle. Neglecting to adequately feed and nurture their child will result in waking up the next day feeling Exhausted. Continuous attention will be required for the first in-game year. However, after one year, the baby will have fully matured and no longer require feeding or interaction.
