343 Industries has teamed up with Manic Games to develop a tabletop Halo game set to release in 2024. This new game, not a video game, will showcase miniature Spartan supersoldiers. Details on how it will tie into the Halo universe and incorporate other elements like vehicles and Covenant races remain unknown. Stay tuned for the official reveal coming soon.
"Moving Spartans in and out of cover while simulating a firefight on the table brings a new and unique level of engagement for players," stated Ronnie Renton, CEO of Mantic Games, in a press release. "Our dedicated team of sculptors, artists, and designers has created an exciting and competitive game, offering an incredible Halo experience."
Previews for the Halo tabletop game will commence in March, with the full game set for launch in September. While this will not be the first tabletop Halo experience, as the Halo ActionClix line was released just prior to Halo 3 in 2007, it promises to deliver an exceptional and thrilling gaming experience. The game will feature Spartans, vehicles, and aliens such as Hunters to battle against UNSC forces. Notably, the ActionClix line was discontinued the following year.
The Halo series continues to thrive with ongoing updates to Halo Infinite and the highly anticipated second season of the Halo Paramount+ series. There is much secrecy surrounding the potential release of a Halo Infinite sequel, as Xbox executives remain tight-lipped on the matter.
