After giving birth to daughter Leni in May 2004, the America's Got Talent judge and her then-partner, the singer, decided to adopt her five years later. They went on to expand their family with the birth of Henry, Jonah, and Lou in 2005, 2006, and 2009 respectively. However, their relationship ended in 2012, and Seal has since revealed that co-parenting has been a "challenging" experience for them.

According to the Grammy winner, parenting requires a strong sense of teamwork between both parents. If both individuals work together seamlessly, then raising a child becomes an easy task. However, if there isn't a sense of collaboration, things can quickly fall apart. The songwriter admitted that she and Klum lacked that teamwork in their relationship. On a brighter note, Leni seems to be taking after her mother's modeling career, as evidenced by their shared cover on Vogue Germany in April 2021.

Seal cautioned against taking the precarious road of marrying young, admitting that it rarely leads to happiness. However, he recognized that as a parent, one must allow their children to pursue what brings them joy. While he acknowledged that Klum's decision to marry at 17 wasn't his first choice, he emphasized the importance of loving and keeping them safe as they navigate life. Despite their privileges, such as a comfortable home and great education, they still face their own unique challenges. Klum eventually went on to marry Tom Kaulitz, whom her children adored.

Klum expressed her satisfaction, stating, "Things are going well." Kaulitz added, "It's working out nicely. Teaching them guitar is just one aspect of my music career as I engage in music throughout the day."

Seal, who split from his former partner in 2012, revealed in an exclusive interview nearly a decade later that co-parenting can present its challenges. The Grammy winner emphasized the importance of working together as a team, stating that when both parents are united, co-parenting becomes effortless. However, if the parents are not in sync, the process can easily fall apart. Seal admitted that he and Klum were not able to achieve the teamwork required for successful co-parenting.

The songwriter expressed that Leni has been following her mother's modeling career for several years now, and the two even graced the cover of Vogue Germany together in April 2021. Seal, on the other hand, shared his concerns about the path Leni has chosen to take, acknowledging that it is a risky one that seldom leads to happiness. Despite his reservations, he understands that Leni is 17 years old, and he has no control over her decisions. As a parent, all he can do is love and protect her to the best of his ability and allow her to pursue what brings her joy. He also acknowledged that Leni does not face significant challenges in life, given her privileged upbringing and access to education and resources.

Heidi Klum tied the knot with Tom Kaulitz in February 2019 after revealing that her children were admirers of the musician. Klum expressed her satisfaction with their relationship, while Kaulitz added that teaching her kids guitar was a natural part of their bond, given his profession as a full-time musician.
