In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are various armor sets that provide different advantages to Link. One of these sets is the Glide Armor, which is also referred to as the "Wingsuit." The Glide Armor is particularly useful because it grants Link the Skydive Mobility Up bonus. This bonus allows Link to glide for longer distances using the paraglider, while significantly reducing Stamina consumption. As a result, traveling between the numerous Sky Islands in Hyrule becomes effortless.
However, before players can acquire the Glide Armor set, they must first unlock the paraglider. This allows them to reach the Sky Islands where they will face a series of challenges. The main objective in each area is to reach the large island adorned with stone rings. It's important to note that getting to these islands requires overcoming significant gliding challenges. Therefore, it may be advisable for players to increase their Stamina wheel before taking on this feat. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that Link can consume Stamina recovery food while gliding. To learn more about obtaining the Glide Armor set in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, read on.
Updated August 28th, 2023: The game-changing armor set, the Glide Suit in Tears of the Kingdom, is highly sought after by players. With its enhanced flight capabilities, players are eager to acquire the Glide Suit as soon as possible in order to gain full control over the skies. Unfortunately, locating the Glide Suit in TOTK can be perplexing for players unaware of its whereabouts. To assist players in finding this coveted armor set, we have updated the following guide with a helpful video.
About The Glide Armor Set
Note: Placeholder remains unchanged.
The Glide Armor set consists of three pieces: the Glide Mask, the Glide Shirt, and the Glide Tights. Each piece contributes to the Skydive Mobility Up buff.
Where to Find the Glide Shirt
Once the armor set reaches a two-star rating, wearing the full set will provide an added advantage: the Impact Proof bonus, which completely nullifies any fall damage. This can come in handy if the player's Stamina has been depleted entirely and they find themselves helplessly plummeting downwards, as they can no longer rely on the paraglider for safety.
To acquire the Glide Shirt, make your way to the Lindor's Brow Skyview Tower located at coordinates -1901, 1243, 0297. This tower can be found northwest of New Serenne Stable. Activate the pedestal situated inside the tower to initiate a soaring ascent. Once airborne, glide in the direction of southwest towards the enchanting Courage Island.
Courage Island is located at coordinates -2226, 0927, 1644 in the Hyrule Ridge Sky region. For players with low Stamina, gliding directly to the island can prove to be quite a challenge. It is advisable to make a stop at smaller islands along the way to recharge, or alternatively, consume Stamina-restoring items.
Upon arrival at Courage Island, engage in conversation with the Steward Construct to acquaint yourself with the Dive Ceremony challenge. Prior to undertaking the timed challenge, the player must first accomplish a trial dive, which triggers the activation of the nearby Taunhiy Shrine. Conclude the shrine's task before progressing to the timed diving challenge.
Subsequently, the player is eligible to accept the Dive Ceremony challenge from the Steward Construct. For each attempt made at the challenge, one Zonai Charge will be expended. Initiate the device to commence, then plunge off the island, maneuvering through all the green rings, and strive to reach the ocean floor within a span of 35 seconds in order to successfully accomplish the challenge. Triumph in this endeavor will bestow upon the player the coveted Glide Shirt.
Upon completing the timed challenge, a new Dive Ceremony is unlocked for the player. In this ceremony, the objective is to dive through all the rings and successfully land within 20 seconds. As a reward for completing this challenge, the player is granted a Large Zonai Charge. Moreover, if the player manages to beat the current best record, they will be awarded an additional charge for each successful attempt. This provides an excellent opportunity for farming additional Large Zonai Charges. To optimize their chances, players should strive to set a record that is very close to the 20-second requirement. They can then gradually enhance their time by making incremental improvements with subsequent attempts.
Where to Find the Glide Tights
To obtain the Glide Tights, players must head to Thyplo Ruins Skyview Tower located at coordinates 0338, 3123, 0174, which is north of the Great Hyrule Forest. From the tower, fly towards Bravery Island in the North Hyrule Sky Archipelago region.
Bravery Island is situated at coordinates 0243, 2092, 1980, floating above the Lost Woods. Upon reaching the island, players should accept the Dive Ceremony challenge from the island's Steward Construct. The objective is to dive through all the rings within 35 seconds in order to receive the Glide Tights. Similar to the previous challenge, each attempt requires one Zonai Charge. Completion of this Dive Ceremony will also unlock a 20-second challenge where players can obtain a Large Zonai Charge as a reward.
Where to Find the Glide Mask
To acquire the Glide Mask, make your way to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower located at coordinates 3845, -1306, 0539, situated at the summit of Mount Lanayru. It is important to come prepared for the harsh sub-zero temperatures of this mountainous area by equipping cold-resistant food and protective armor.
Once you ascend into the sky, glide towards the northeast direction from the tower towards Valor Island, which is part of the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago region. Keep in mind that attempting a direct glide to Valor Island will deplete a considerable amount of your stamina compared to the previous islands. It may be wise to take breaks on the nearby islands found northeast of the tower. These islands are equipped with functional Zonai flying machines that will ease your travel to the subsequent islands.
Use the second airborne vehicle to finally arrive at Valor Island, situated at coordinates 4471, -0840, 2624, within the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago region. Carry out the trial run once again, which will unlock the nearby Sihajog Shrine. Once the trial is successfully completed, proceed to accept the Dive Ceremony challenge presented by the island's Steward Construct. Dive through all the rings within a time limit of 35 seconds in order to conquer the challenge and acquire the Glide Mask.
Similar to the previous challenges, each attempt at the Dive Ceremony requires a Zonai Charge fee. By accomplishing this challenge, an additional Dive Ceremony will be unlocked, providing an opportunity to obtain more Large Zonai Charges.
