Gina Kirschenheiter confronted Shannon Beador during the season 17 Real Housewives of Orange County reunion without holding back. The first part of the reunion, which aired on Wednesday, October 4, saw host Andy Cohen question Shannon, 59, about her previous statement that she was responsible for preventing Gina, 39, from losing custody of her children to Child Protective Services (CPS) after a DUI incident in 2019.
"Gina, I don't recall saying that. When I made that statement, I didn't intend to imply that your children would be placed in the system and separated from you. What I meant was that if you had been arrested and there was no responsible adult present, your children wouldn't have been left there until you sorted out your legal matters," Shannon clarified during the special, which was recorded in early September. "That being said, Heather [Dubrow] informed me that you were discussing my relationship with my now ex-boyfriend John Janssen. I was extremely angry with you. I don't like you. We don't get along because you have no understanding of who I really am."
Gina confronted Shannon after she asked her to list her children's names, which she was unable to do. Gina shares three children, Nicholas, Sienna, and Luca, with her ex-husband Matthew Kirschenheiter. "You've known me for six years and you don't even know my kids' names. And now you're bringing up false allegations from CPS. This is completely inaccurate and highly inappropriate," Gina exclaimed. "You have crossed a line, Shannon. Your actions are completely wrong. Instead of anything else, you should be apologizing for your behavior."
Shannon expressed her deep regret upon watching the season and admitted feeling "horrified" by her actions. However, Gina remained unswayed by Shannon's remorse.
"This is your true nature. You are the type of person who commits a terrible act and refuses to sincerely apologize. This is not acceptable," Gina asserted. "Four and a half years ago, you gave me a phone number which you've since used against me as a weapon. My children are dangerously close to being exposed to social media. You have spread misleading information such as 'Gina, mom, CPS, children almost taken away.' Think about the emotional harm this causes my children, whose names you don't even know."
Shannon's comments caused irreversible damage to their friendship, as stated by Gina. She emphasized that the impact of these comments will persist indefinitely, leaving her uncertain about the future of their relationship.
In an exclusive interview with We on September 5, Gina revealed her intention to confront Shannon during the RHOC cast discussion. However, the situation took an unexpected twist when Shannon was arrested less than two weeks later for a hit-and-run incident and driving under the influence. On September 16, Shannon was charged with two misdemeanors after exhibiting erratic driving behavior in Newport Beach.
Police reported that Shannon drove onto a residential property and grazed the house while attempting to park her car. When the authorities arrived, she exited the vehicle with her dog, in an alleged attempt to give the impression that she was taking her pet for a walk at the time of the incident.
Following the circulation of news about Shannon's arrest, her attorney released a statement.
Michael Fell stated that he had spent a significant amount of time with Shannon the previous day. He mentioned that she expressed a deep sense of regret and remorse. Furthermore, he added that they would be patiently waiting for the official information regarding the case and that Shannon was fully willing to take complete accountability for her actions. Although Shannon has not directly spoken about her legal troubles, some of her fellow RHOC stars have shared their thoughts.
