Get Ready for Epic Class Upgrades: World of Warcraft Expanding its Roster!

World of Warcraft plans to expand its class options, with a focus on introducing more race class combinations in the future Exciting updates await players in the Dragonflight expansion!

World of Warcraft has recently announced its intention to expand the racial and class combinations available to players. Although no specific timeline has been given, World of Warcraft enthusiasts can take comfort in the knowledge that they will eventually have the opportunity to play almost any class with any race.

In the latest patch, 10.1.5, titled "Fractures in Time," World of Warcraft continues its ongoing effort to grant access to specific classes for all playable races in the game. Noah Smith, an associate quest designer, recently shared in a brief video the steps he took to facilitate the inclusion of the Warlock class for all races in WoW.

At the start of the video, Smith mentions that World of Warcraft is currently working on a plan to allow all races to play any class. This speculation by players has been going on for a while, especially due to expansions like Cataclysm, Shadowlands, and Dragonflight gradually breaking down these restrictions. However, this is the first time that WoW has officially confirmed their intention to completely remove these limitations.

It is important to note that this change will not include the Demon Hunter or Evoker classes. Demon Hunters have unique voicelines and specific lore that would pose a challenge for World of Warcraft to extend them to other classes. Similarly, the abilities used by the new Evoker class in Dragonflight are closely tied to the specific biology of the Dracthyr. While it is technically possible for Dracthyr to eventually access other WoW classes, players should not expect this to happen anytime soon.

Content In World of Warcraft, only three base classes - Paladin, Druid, and Shaman - are not available to every race. Each of these classes requires unique models to be made for each individual race, due to Paladin Divine Steeds, Druid's Shapeshifting forms, and Shaman Totems. It is likely that Paladin or Shaman will be the next classes to become available, with Druid being the final class to receive this treatment.

The base Dragonflight expansion already made Mage, Rogue, and Priest available to all races, and Patch 10.0.7 did the same for the Monk class. Warlocks became playable by every race in Patch 10.1.5, suggesting that another class may be introduced in Patch 10.2.5 or 10.2.7. However, no information about these updates has been revealed yet. Currently, World of Warcraft players can only be certain that these options will be available in the future.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
