Discover the thrilling future updates for Dead by Daylight! Get ready for killer changes, map adjustments, and more as the developers unveil exciting details for the upcoming summer update and beyond

The Executioner, Onryo, and other Dead by Daylight killers are set to undergo changes in an upcoming summer update. As the popularity of Dead by Daylight continues to grow, Behaviour Interactive is making adjustments to the survivors, perks, levels, and more. The summer update is expected to bring significant alterations to the game.

Since its initial release in 2016, Dead by Daylight has consistently evolved, leading to its position among the top 20 most-played games on Steam. Notably, popular Twitch streamers such as Otzdarva, Matthew Santoro, and Ohmwrecker frequently showcase Dead by Daylight, contributing to its high viewership on the platform. With each update, Dead by Daylight has proven to attract returning players, and the highly anticipated summer patch is likely to entice fans back to the game.

Teasing that the aforementioned summer update is releasing alongside the next big Dead by Daylight event, Behaviour Interactive has confirmed several changes to the Onryo, Executioner, Spirit, and Hag. In the upcoming summer update, the Onryo will receive the most significant attention with new features like the Projection ability, cursed tapes, demanifestation, and adjustments to add-ons. Notably, the Projection ability now has a 15-second cooldown to balance its Condemned effect, which itself undergoes some modifications. Additionally, cursed tapes will play a more prominent role following the patch's release.

The Executioner's built-in mechanic, which prevented it from standing too close to cages with survivors, has been improved. The Hag and Spirit in Dead by Daylight have also received adjustments to their add-ons, such as the Mint Rag and Dried Cherry Blossom, respectively. Adjustments to perks like Claustrophobia, Trail of Torment, and Prove Thyself will impact both killers and survivors, potentially causing some players to prioritize different perks. Behaviour Interactive has started revisiting old maps, beginning with the modernization of Coldwind Farm to make it more comparable to newer maps like Toba Landing, as promised in the Dead by Daylight Anniversary broadcast.

Although these changes are part of the upcoming summer update, the release date for the Dead by Daylight patch remains unclear. Since many of these tweaks were inspired by fan feedback, it is possible that Behaviour Interactive will consider implementing more requested changes in future updates.

Dead by Daylight is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
