Game-Changing Addition Unveiled in Latest Kick Update

Kick's latest update introduces a game-changing feature, enhancing user experience and intensifying its battle against Twitch in the streaming platform arena

Highlights

Kick has added a Report Button to address concerns about its lack of moderation, which may help the platform compete against Twitch.

The Report Button is positioned beneath the Subscribe button, enabling users to effortlessly report streams that flout the Community Guidelines.

Kick assures swift response to reports, while also cautioning against misuse and spamming of the feature, implying possible penalties for those who exploit it.

Kick has recently responded to community requests by introducing a Report Button feature to all streams. This addition could potentially enhance Kick's competitiveness against Twitch, as the company has faced criticism for its inadequate moderation in the past.

Launched just last year, the streaming platform Kick swiftly emerged as Twitch's major contender. With a significant increase in viewership during its initial months, and renowned streamers like Adin Ross, xQc, and Amouranth on board, Kick gained considerable momentum. Nevertheless, Twitch has maintained its leading position in terms of viewership, prompting Kick to explore novel strategies for enhancing its services.

Kick support has introduced a highly anticipated feature known as the Report Button. This button enables users to easily report any streams that violate the company's Community Guidelines, prompting moderators to take quick action. Finding and using the button is simple, located below the Subscribe button and to the left of the viewership numbers. Upon clicking the button, users can select from ten options to specify the reason for the report, including hate speech, bullying, nudity, terrorism, and child endangerment. Kick has also reassured its users that misuse of the button will not go unnoticed and may result in penalties for those who spam reports. Additionally, Kick pledged to enhance this functionality in the future for the benefit of its community.

Given Kick's controversial reputation since its launch, this update is highly appreciated as it aims to rectify its tarnished image. Despite rapid growth, the company has faced criticism for affiliating with controversial influencers, promoting gambling in its streams, and lacking efficient moderation. Consequently, this could be viewed as a first step towards addressing some of these concerns.

Kick is always striving to enhance its platform by introducing new and beneficial features for users. Recently, it introduced two significant updates: chat replay on VODs and clips, along with a download button for clips. These enhancements are geared towards improving the overall user experience. It is worth noting that when Kick initially launched, it had fewer features in comparison to Twitch, which has been in the market since 2011.
