Frostbite Armor Guide: Master Tears of the Kingdom

The Frostbite Armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom allows Link to utilize the icy environments to his advantage by imbuing his attacks with ice. However, it does not provide protection from the cold or enhance his ability to consume certain foods. Obtaining the set of armor requires traversing through snowy mountains, but it is relatively easy to acquire. The set consists of three pieces: Frostbite Headdress, Frostbite Shirt, and Frostbite Trousers. This guide offers players a detailed walkthrough on where to find each piece and how to obtain them.

How to Get the Frostbite Armor in Tears of the Kingdom

- Frostbite Headress

Located in the northern end of Lake Kilsie, the Frostbite Headdress can be found inside a cave. To reach it, players can either launch from the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower or fast travel to the Ijo-o Shrine in the West Hebra Sky Archipelago and glide down to get closer to the cave. This headdress is a valuable addition to any player's collection, offering protection from the cold and making exploration of the frigid Hebra region much easier.

Upon entering the cave, players must quickly defeat a Horriblin. The room is buffeted by a constant gust of wind emanating from the ground, with an opening situated on the opposite side. However, a better option is to look towards the right, where another opening is partially blocked by icicles.

To clear the passage, players can use a Bomb Fruit combined with an arrow. Once the path is liberated, they can use the wind to ascend and glide over to the opening. Inside the room, a small hut houses the Frostbite Headdress, waiting to be claimed from the treasure chest.

- How to Get the Frostbite Shirt in Tears of the Kingdom

To get your hands on the Frostbite Shirt in Breath of the Wild, players will need to venture to Brightcap Cave, southeast of Rito Village and the Lucky Clover Gazette. Fast traveling to the Oromuwak Shrine will bring you closer to your destination. Follow the road leading to Tabantha Hills from the Gazette and keep an eye out for a camp with two individuals stationed outside a massive cave on the right side of the road. This is where you'll find the coveted Frostbite Shirt.

To complete the Cave Mushrooms That Grow side quest and receive a Spicy Tomato Mushroom Stew, players must give the two sisters 10 Brightcaps. Inside the cave, there are no alternative paths, and players will have to defeat a Horriblin and a Like Like to progress. At the end of the path, players will find a chest containing the Frostbite Shirt in a little hut surrounded by thorns. To reach the chest, players can either use a Fire Fruit to get rid of the thorns or climb over the walls.

- How to Get the Frostbite Trousers in Tears of the Kingdom

The Frostbite Trousers can be found in the Hebra Headspring Cave in the Hebra Headspring, and is east of the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower. The cave is at the north end of the river.

To progress through the cave, players must navigate past only two Ice Keese. However, the real challenge lies in avoiding the freezing cold water that can cause damage to Link. One option is to jump from spire to spire, or alternatively, climb up the cliff on the left side of the room and glide across.

The treasure chest room is located above the water, but players can create an ice platform using resources such as White Chuchu Jelly, Ice Fruit, or a makeshift Ice Wand. This allows for a quick jump to the wall, which can be scaled to reach the opening before sliding back into the water. The Frostbite Trousers can be found in a small hut inside the treasure chest room.
