Sara Haines confessed that working with a former The View cohost was challenging, which was apparent to some fans of the morning show. On the "Behind the Table" podcast episode on December 6th, Haines, along with guest Matt Rogers and show producer Brian Teta, talked about the panel's dynamics over the years. Teta, while auditioning new hosts in 2022, shared his thoughts on Alyssa Farah Griffin with Rogers.
Rogers expressed, "You made the right decision," when talking to Teta about including Griffin, 34, in the panel, and Teta agreed. He further added that he valued Griffin's composed expression of her opinions on the show.
The comedian expressed appreciation for the open conversations without defensiveness or personal attacks. Viewers are able to watch without feeling anxious or uncomfortable.
Although the comedian didn't mention any names, viewers speculated that he was referring to Meghan McCain. Another host suggested that "uncomfortable" accurately described the dynamic with previous hosts, which the comedian agreed with.
"I had to take a step back from watching it because I just got anxious at the thought of the conversations that were going to be had. And I think that’s not good,” Rogers shared. “Even if you disagree, I need to hear [your point] to disagree with it, and then think about what I think. It got to a point where I was like, ‘Are we having conversations here or are we needing to manage each other, looking for buttons to push?’”

Haines, for her part, confessed that “it was as uncomfortable as you received it.”
Teta suggested that Rogers could have been referring to any of the former cohosts on the show, and Haines ultimately agreed with her.
With McCain leaving the talk show, Griffin joined The View in 2022 alongside Ana Navarro. McCain, 39, had clashed with her cohosts throughout her five years on the show due to her differing opinions on various topics. After leaving, McCain spoke out about the toxic work environment on the set.
In October 2021, she told Variety, "During the Trump years, I was the only conservative working on the show. It felt like a lot of people directed their anger towards the administration at me because I was the only Republican in the building."

After McCain’s exit, Whoopi Goldberg confessed that the energy on the show had changed for the better.
“It’s calmer because nobody wants to be that tired every day,” Goldberg, 68, told Page Six in October 2022. “I think [the show], it’s better. I feel it’s better, but I’m still tired!”
