Final Fantasy 14 players can look forward to the return of the Moonfire Faire event, offering a new quest and the chance to obtain a Power Rangers-inspired outfit.

The event, scheduled for August, will be centered around a tropical summer getaway concept and will challenge players with an exciting jumping puzzle.

In the upcoming Moonfire Faire, players will have the opportunity to acquire the Phoenix Riser attire, a dynamic two-piece costume influenced by Power Rangers and Kamen Rider, by successfully fulfilling a quest.

Final Fantasy 14 players who are interested in dressing their characters in Power Rangers-inspired outfits will soon have the opportunity to do so, as the annual Moonfire Faire holiday returns. This limited-time event offers a new quest for players to complete, with the reward being a super-powered suit.

Taking place every August, Final Fantasy 14's Moonfire Faire is not associated with a specific holiday, but rather draws inspiration from the concept of a tropical summer vacation. Each year, except for a few instances, the Moonfire Faire features a challenging jumping puzzle that players can try to conquer for bragging rights. In the 2022 edition of the event, players who completed a quest were granted gender-specific sets of Summer Sunset swimwear, which could be used as a fashionable choice. Although the Summer Sunset glamour is no longer attainable through the event, it is now available for purchase on Final Fantasy 14's Online Store for $5.00. For this year's Moonfire Faire, a completely different outfit will be obtainable for players to acquire.

The 2023 Moonfire Faire begins on Thursday, August 10, and ends on Saturday, August 26. To obtain the Phoenix Riser attire, players must embark on the quest "Allergic to Sunshine" by speaking to a lalafell named Mayaru Moyaru at the Aftcastle in Limsa Lominsa's upper decks. Eventually, the quest will lead players to Costa del Sol, which draws inspiration from Final Fantasy 7's tropical getaway. Upon completing the quest, players can acquire the outfit.

The design of the Phoenix Riser attire draws heavy inspiration from shows like Power Rangers and Kamen Rider. It consists of a two-piece outfit, including a helmet and a bodysuit that covers the chest, arms, legs, and feet. For Viera and Hrothgar players, who have faced limitations in visibly displaying most headgear in Final Fantasy 14, a YouTube video by The Phookas reveals that the Phoenix Riser Helmet not only appears on these two races, but also covers their ears. The potential impact of this new design on the Viera and Hrothgar in the future remains uncertain.

The Phoenix Riser outfit in Final Fantasy 14 can be customized with various colors as it can be dyed. Players will have a wide range of color options to choose from. With the upcoming Dawntrail expansion introducing a second dye channel, it is uncertain whether the Phoenix Riser attire will be one of the first to benefit from this update. Final Fantasy 14 is currently playable on PC, PS4, and PS5, and an Xbox Series X/S version is scheduled to launch in Spring 2024.
