Honkai: Star Rail has unveiled upcoming additions for Version 1.2. HoYoverse recently live-streamed a Special Program called "Even Immortality Ends" to showcase the fresh features of Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.2, attracting over 200,000 viewers.
Scheduled for release on July 19, Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.2 will introduce new playable characters, including the five-star banners Kafka and Blade, as well as the four-star character Luka. Additionally, players will face the challenge of conquering four formidable boss enemies. The update will also bring new limited-time events and special challenges, providing players with the opportunity to obtain Stellar Jades and even acquire Yukong for free.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.2 introduced two new areas, namely the Alchemy Commission and Scalegorge Waterscape. The Alchemy Commission, located at Xianzhou Luofu, focused on medical research and treating sick patients. On the other hand, the Scalegorge Waterscape served as the habitat for the Vidyadhara, a humanoid species with dragon-like features such as Bailu and Imbibitor Lunae, and also housed the Ambrosial Arbor. In addition, the "Even Immortality Ends" trailer showcased Imbibitor Lunae displaying her unique abilities at Scalegorge Waterscape by parting a body of water. Although not much information was disclosed regarding the missions and enemies in these areas, it was suggested that new puzzles would be present. Consequently, numerous players expressed their enthusiasm to explore these locations and progress through the game's main storyline.
The Trailblazers may find answers regarding the Mara that afflicts Xianzhou citizens at the Alchemy Commission. Additionally, this location is linked to the Sanctus Medicus, a cultish group searching for immortality. The Scalegorge Waterscape could be the final destination, as hinted by the trailer, where players may encounter the formidable boss, Phantylia the Undying. It is speculated that this is where Dan Heng would reveal his true form as Imbibitor Lunae.
It is worth noting that the Alchemy Commission and Scalegorge Waterscape are not the rumored new location in Honkai: Star Rail. According to leaks, World 3 is expected to be themed after late 1800s or early 1900s France and USA. While there have been no recent updates about the release of the third in-game world, if the Xianzhou Luofu story concludes in Version 1.2, players might have the opportunity to explore the next world sooner than anticipated.
Honkai: Star Rail is available now for PC and mobile devices. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
