In 2010, Ryan Seacrest was in a high-profile relationship with Julianne Hough. However, the couple split three years later. Following the breakup, Hough shared her thoughts on why their romance didn't last.
"I used to be in relationships where everything seemed okay, but nothing felt truly right," she shared with Redbook in the August 2014 issue. "I always kept one foot out the door to protect myself from getting hurt. I also held back my true feelings to avoid causing any conflict."
The former Dancing With the Stars contestant went on to say, "I felt like I had to be perfect. But now, I've learned to be more open and honest. I'd rather take the risk of heartbreak than miss out on experiencing true, passionate love. If I had been more open in my previous relationship, who knows what could have happened?"
After ending his relationship with Hough, Seacrest soon found love with model Shayna Taylor. They had an on-again, off-again relationship until June 2020, when they broke up for the third time.

Ryan Seacrest, a familiar face on TV, has been able to keep his dating life mostly private.
Ryan Seacrest's most notable relationship was with Julianne Hough in 2010. However, the couple parted ways three years later. Hough later shared her thoughts on why their relationship didn't succeed.
In an interview with Redbook in August 2014, Hough explained, "In each relationship, there wasn't anything specifically wrong or bad, but there also wasn't anything particularly right. I was hesitant to fully invest because I was afraid of getting hurt. I also held back from expressing my true feelings to avoid causing any conflict."
The Dancing With the Stars alum shared that in the past, they felt the need to be perfect in relationships. However, now they have learned to be more open and vulnerable, willing to take the risk of getting hurt in order to experience true love. They reflected on how being more open in their previous relationship could have made a difference.
Shortly after the breakup with Hough, Seacrest found love with model Shayna Taylor. Their relationship had its ups and downs, and they eventually decided to part ways in June 2020, marking their third breakup.
