In her new memoir, "The Woman in Me," Britney Spears shared her disappointment with a 2007 interview with Ryan Seacrest. The interview, which was meant to focus on her new album "Blackout," took an unexpected turn when Seacrest asked about her parenting skills. Spears expressed how she felt Seacrest veered off topic, asking her questions like, "How do you handle criticism as a mom?" and "Are you confident you're doing your best for your kids?" and "What's your visitation schedule like?"
Spears desired to discuss Blackout, her album released shortly after her highly publicized breakdown and split from Kevin Federline. Despite considering it as some of her finest work, the pop star felt that Seacrest, now 48, was one among many who solely focused on her personal life.
"It seemed like the only topic of interest to everyone was whether or not I was a suitable mother," Spears expressed. "There was no conversation about how I managed to create such a powerful album while juggling two infants on my hips and constantly facing threats from numerous dangerous individuals."
She went on to note that she doesn’t hold any ill will toward Seacrest, who’s interviewed her again in the years since.

Spears and Federline, aged 45, ended their marriage in November 2006 after being together for two years. They have two sons named Preston (18 years old) and Jayden (17 years old) together.
After her separation from Federline, Spears faced a series of widely publicized mental health battles. In February 2008, she was placed under a conservatorship that granted her father, Jamie Spears, control over her personal and financial affairs for an extended period of time.
"In my previous life, I enjoyed freedom - the ability to make my own choices, set my own plans, and wake up each day with the freedom to decide how I wanted to spend it. Even the challenging days were my own to face," Britney expressed in her book regarding those years. "However, once I abandoned the fight, my new life consisted of waking up every morning with a single question: 'What are we doing?' And then, I would simply follow the instructions given to me."
Britney was finally freed from her conservatorship in November 2021, after enduring it for 13 long years. However, she has not yet made amends with her family. "My family fails to grasp the true extent of the harm they caused," she expressed.
