Content: Ryan Seacrest, a media mogul, has been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry for over twenty years. He has excelled both in front of and behind the camera.

Born in Atlanta in 1974, Seacrest began his journey as a radio intern during his high school years. Despite not completing his journalism degree at the University of Georgia, he decided to pursue his career in Los Angeles, where he quickly made strides in the industry.

Content: The risk paid off, as by 1993 he was already hosting the ESPN series Radical Outdoor Challenge on TV. Just a year later, he began cohosting the children's game show Gladiators 2000 and rarely went without a television job thereafter.

Although Seacrest's voice was a prominent presence on radio during the late 1990s, his true breakthrough moment arrived in 2002 when he became the host of a fresh reality competition series known as American Idol. This show became an instant sensation, propelling the careers of renowned artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia Barrino, and Jordin Sparks.

Reflecting on Idol's 20th anniversary, the host of On Air With Ryan Seacrest expressed his admiration for the first season, which started with relatively low recognition but quickly gained momentum and achieved unexpected success. Seacrest confessed that even he was taken by surprise when it came time to announce the winner, unsure of how to deliver the news. However, the moment was made unforgettable by a grand celebration with fireworks and a moving performance of "A Moment Like This," which deeply touched Seacrest.

The host of Punk'd continued hosting Idol after it moved from Fox to ABC in 2018, and he also cohosted Live With Kelly and Ryan alongside Kelly Ripa. Additionally, he took over as the host of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve following Dick Clark's stroke. In February 2023, Seacrest surprised fans with the announcement that he would be departing from Live With Kelly and Ryan after almost six years. "Working with Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and a career highlight," said the producer of the Kardashians. "She has been an incredible partner, friend, and confidant, and although we will always be a part of each other's lives, I will miss our mornings together."

Seacrest expressed his gratitude to Michael Gelman, the entire staff and crew, for the unforgettable memories made and the warm welcome from viewers across America. He acknowledged that his time on the show has been remarkable and he is now eager to hand over the reins to Kelly's "real" husband, Mark Consuelos.

In April, Seacrest bid farewell to Live in his final episode. Just two months later, Sony Pictures Television announced that he would be taking over as the new host of Wheel of Fortune, succeeding Pat Sajak after his retirement in 2024.

We were taken aback by the momentum it was gaining and its unprecedented success – it was all so unfamiliar, even to us."

Additionally, the star of New Year's Eve shared that he was unsure about how to announce the very first winner. "I was at a loss on how to deliver the news since it was a unique situation, but then a cascade of fireworks rained down, and an immense celebration commenced, with her performing 'A Moment Like This,'" recollected Seacrest. "I am quite easily moved to emotion, but in that moment, I was truly overwhelmed."

Ryan Seacrest, known for his role on Punk'd, continued hosting Idol after it moved from Fox to ABC in 2018. Alongside this, he cohosted Live With Kelly and Ryan with Kelly Ripa. Impressed by what they saw, Seacrest and his team quickly sent the tape to E!, marking the beginning of the show.
