Pow portrayed Ruescott Melshi in both Andor season 1 and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. His unexpected appearance in Andor surprised many, considering he appeared to be a relatively minor character in the film. However, it proved to be a logical choice and actually added depth to the story, thanks to his enduring friendship with Diego Luna's Cassian Andor.
Melshi made his first appearance in the show's prison arc, wherein Cassian reluctantly found himself confined within a highly secure facility. However, he ultimately joined forces with his fellow inmates to orchestrate a remarkable escape. Cassian and Melshi managed to flee together, whereas the endearing and gruff Kino Loy, portrayed by Andy Serkis, remained behind on the prison situated in the ocean.
