A recent official teaser for Genshin Impact has unveiled a plethora of new characters set to debut in the upcoming Fontaine region. Anticipated to be released within the next few months, the introduction of this new main nation is a highly anticipated event for many players. This fresh expansion promises an array of exciting elements, including unexplored terrain and a brand-new selection of playable units.
In anticipation of every major region addition, developer HoYoverse consistently treats fans to a series of teaser videos, providing enticing hints about the forthcoming content. While an exact release date for Fontaine remains undisclosed, Genshin Impact enthusiasts can eagerly await the arrival of the Hydro nation during the latter half of August.
Genshin Impact's official YouTube channel has released a video titled "Overture Teaser: The Final Feast," confirming the important characters in Fontaine. The video begins with a female character falling into water and waking up, revealing it to be a trick by the renowned magician duo, Lyney and Lynette. Their appearance suggests that they will likely feature in the upcoming Genshin Impact version 4.0. Rumors suggest that Lyney will be a five-star character, while Lynette will have a lower four-star rarity.
Fans are thrilled to see that the second character in the video appears to possess a Geo Vision. It has been over 500 days since the introduction of a new Geo Vision holder, with the last one being Yunjin in update 2.4. The latest five-star Geo character to join the roster was Arataki Itto in Genshin Impact update 2.3.
The teaser has also introduced a new character, a tall male model rumored for months, named Wriothesley. He will be a Cryo user and is speculated to join the Standard Banner, following a similar pattern to Tighnari in HoYoverse after his limited banner ended.
Confirming previous leaks, the video revealed that Arlecchino, one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, will assume the role of the main antagonist in the upcoming story. Known for her cold-hearted nature, she is even capable of betraying her leader, The Tsaritsa, as hinted in Tartaglia's voice lines.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
