A behind-the-scenes photo from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse unveils Donald Glover's costume for his cameo role as Aaron Davis, also known as the Prowler. The highly anticipated sequel has finally hit theaters and has already left audiences stunned with its unexpected twists and turns. Among them is Glover's impressive performance as the Marvel villain, fully embracing his character. The talented Trayce Gigi Field designed the suit, which has been unveiled in its entirety on Instagram.
The writers of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, spoke with Rolling Stone about the cameo and shared that they personally reached out to Donald Glover, who they have a close relationship with. They presented him with the idea, assuring him that committing would be easy and he wouldn't have to do much. Glover was excited to be a part of it and even wanted to surprise his kids by appearing in the movie, as he loved the first film.
Miller expressed his excitement about a recent shoot where Trayce Gigi Field, the costume designer for the first season of Miller's Apple TV+ series The Afterparty, built a Prowler suit in a matter of weeks. Typically, the process of building such a suit takes months or even years, but Field's impressive talent allowed for the quick creation of the suit so that the team could come together and include it in the film.
Where Donald Glover's Prowler Could Appear Next In The MCU Or Sony's Universe
With Prowler's fate still uncertain, fans are eagerly anticipating where the character will pop up next in the Marvel Universe. It's possible that he could make another appearance in the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, set to release next year. However, there's also speculation that Prowler could appear in other Marvel-related projects, leaving fans excited about the possibilities for Donald Glover's character.
There is potential for Prowler to appear in Tom Holland's upcoming Spider-Man 4 film, as it wouldn't be surprising given the connection between this Aaron Davis and the one in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Alternatively, it would be a pleasant surprise if Glover were to have a cameo in Madame Web, which is related to the multiverse. It would be a disappointment if Marvel didn't fully utilize Glover's exceptional acting abilities and the groundwork they've laid for the character since Homecoming. Only time will tell where Prowler will make his next appearance after his cameo in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
