Exclusive: Gwen Stacy's Shocking Role Exposed in Spider-Man: Spider-Verse 3!

In the upcoming Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, fans can expect the story to continue from where Across the Spider-Verse left off. Miles Morales will find himself trapped in a different universe, while Gwen Stacy takes charge and assembles a team to locate him. Although specific plot details and new character information remain undisclosed, producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have offered a tantalizing glimpse into Gwen's narrative in Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Though many details about Beyond the Spider-Verse are being kept under wraps, Lord and Miller have provided some hints. In a recent episode of Crew Call with Anthony D’Alessandro, Lord and Miller discussed the possibility of multiple versions of Gwen appearing in the film. When asked if audiences will see Gwens from different universes in the third installment, Lord replied, “Currently yes.” Miller seconded this confirmation, stating, “Currently, yes. I would say that, yes.” Lord further mentioned, “It’s on the page,” which Miller followed up with, “It is…I think that that…These things evolve as they go.”

Lord and Miller hinted at a particular Multiversal Variant of Gwen that has piqued their interest. They acknowledged that they both knew which variant they were referring to, but remained tight-lipped about the specifics. However, Miller suggested that this particular Gwen variant could have a significant impact on the relationship between Gwen and Miles in Beyond the Spider-Verse. This revelation comes after Gwen's hidden motives were exposed in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, causing some strain in their dynamic.

Even though Beyond the Spider-Verse is still several months away from its theatrical release, it has already generated a great deal of anticipation among fans. If the introduction of Earth-42's Miles Morales is any indication, the various iterations of Gwen are bound to be just as surprising and mind-blowing. The question that remains is how these Gwen variants will differ from the beloved version that audiences are familiar with.
