Highlights

Update 2.0.2 for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fixes a bug preventing side missions like the Kitakami Ogre Clan quest from being completed.

The update grants players the ability to surpass 300 trainer battle victories, granting them access to complete side missions, earn rewards, and engage in ongoing battles with optional Pokemon League staff.

Furthermore, the update addresses a potential game crash during the final battle and resolves an issue related to depositing special Pokemon from Pokemon GO into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The latest update, version 2.0.2, for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet resolves a significant issue that affected battles against non-story trainers. This bug often caused problems with completing certain side quests like the Kitakami Ogre Clan mission. With the recent release of The Teal Mask DLC, fans have been flocking back to the game in large numbers to explore the new storyline, try out fresh gameplay elements, and capture all of the new and returning Pokemon in the expansion.

After finishing the main storyline, players can expect a wide range of activities and missions in The Teal Mask. These include engaging in mini-games like Ogre Oustin' and encountering new legendary Pokemon such as Ogerpon and the Loyal Three, which is composed of Munkidori, Okidogi, and Fezandipiti. Additionally, players have the option to challenge powerful trainers known as the Ogre Clan. However, some Pokemon players have encountered a bug that unintentionally limits their victories to 300, preventing them from completing the die mission.

Thankfully, Game Freak promptly responded to the issue and confirmed that a new patch scheduled for October would resolve the problem of trainer battle limits in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. True to their word, Update 2.0.2 is now available and has successfully addressed the hard cap issue. As a result, players can finally exceed 300 trainer battle victories, which opens up opportunities to complete additional side missions such as the Ogre Clan or battling optional Pokemon League employees. Moreover, players have the ability to rematch any trainers in the field who were not previously recorded as a victory.

Players will be pleased with the fix, and the update also addresses additional bug issues. It resolves a potential game crash during the final battle if the player already had a Koraidon or Miraidon registered in the Pokedex. There was also a problem for Pokemon HOME users where special Pokemon GO creatures couldn't be deposited into the game. The update is currently available and must be installed before players can go online.

The trainer battle bug was particularly troublesome. Once players won 300 optional battles, the game's trainer record storage reached its limit and stopped counting. This prevented any side missions that involved battling a faction from being counted towards progress. As a result, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players were unable to complete these missions and missed out on XP and money rewards. Furthermore, concerns arose regarding the second expansion as any optional battles wouldn't be counted until a patch was released.
