The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne recently talked about Dorit Kemsley’s choice to reveal a text message from Kyle Richards during the season 13 reunion. Erika, 52, shared her thoughts on the matter during an exclusive interview with We on Thursday, February 29. She mentioned that the situation is tricky because it involves personal matters and is unpleasant. When asked if Dorit, 47, was right to share the text, Erika expressed that it's a tough question.
"And that's why you see me say, 'I hate this,'" she explained, referring to her reaction when Dorit shared the message during a preview for the reunion. "I dislike every moment of this. I don't want to watch this. I don't want to be aware of this. The resolution will need to come from them talking it out."
In another part of the reunion preview, Dorit alleged that the message, where Kyle, 55, mentioned she didn't feel the need to discuss their friendship issues during the reunion, was an effort to "shut her down."

Dorit told Erika that the situation felt manipulative and calculated. Erika agreed, saying she would also feel manipulated if she received a similar text. Dorit then mentioned Erika's comment on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in January, where Erika joked that Kyle deserved the same treatment she had received in the past when she was criticized at reunions.
Dorit continued to insist that Kyle should talk about her marital problems with Mauricio Umansky on the reunion show. "Fair is fair," she emphasized.
When Erika read Kyle's message on camera, former RHOBH Teddi Mellencamp and The Real Housewives of New York City's Bethenny Frankel criticized Dorit for revealing the private text message.
On her podcast "Two Ts in a Pod" episode on Tuesday, February 27, Teddi, 42, expressed her feelings of being "disgusted" by Dorit's actions towards a friend.
Teddi went on to share, "I believe there is a limit to what is acceptable in a friendship. It's one thing to mention that Kyle didn't want to argue, but revealing a private message crosses a boundary that should not be crossed."
Frankel expressed her thoughts on the issue through TikTok on Sunday, February 25th.
She was shocked that a private and emotional text from Kyle to a friend off camera was shown on air. She felt that it was a violation of privacy.
Dorit and Kyle had disagreements during the season because Kyle didn't want to discuss the issues in her marriage. This caused a rift between them, and by the end of the season finale, it was mentioned that they hadn't spoken since December 2023.
Even though there was tension between them, Erika believes that Dorit and Kyle can definitely resolve their problems.
