A passionate fan of The Legend of Zelda and the Pokemon series embarked on an ambitious project. They created a Hyrule region featuring fan-made Pokemon concepts inspired by creatures and characters from the Zelda series. This impressive creation was shared on social media and caught the attention of a popular YouTube content creator. The content creator made a video about it, showcasing the project to fans of both Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda.
Since the launch of the Switch, fans of both the Zelda and Pokemon series have enjoyed significant releases on the platform. They have been treated to remakes such as Skyward Sword and Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, as well as the recent releases of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo's top-selling franchises have provided an abundance of content for fans to immerse themselves in. The fan bases of both series sometimes intersect, resulting in unique Pokemon-inspired creations in Tears of the Kingdom, like an Onix built using Zonai devices. However, one particular fan took this to another level by creating a Hyrule region and Pokedex.
blisu_art, an artist on Instagram, created a Hyrule region called Pokemon Link Dimension, inspired by the Zelda series. The artwork gained attention when it was covered on YouTube by Metalfear4, a content creator who analyzed and selected their favorite created Pokemon. blisu_art based the starter Pokemon on the Deku, Goron, and Zora races from Hyrule, giving them respective Grass, Fire, and Water types. They also redesigned the four temple bosses from Tears of the Kingdom as Pokemon, and depicted the light-based guardians from Twilight Princess as regional variants of powerful Pokemon like Rayquaza and Zeraora.
In the concept, the main protagonist is Link, equipped with a Zonai Horn Sword and a Poke Ball designed like a Zonai device attached to his belt. blisu_art combined Zelda creatures and existing Pokemon with Hylian variations, earning praise on social media. Fans of Pokemon expressed their hope in the comments of Metalfear4's video that these concepts would be implemented in a future fan-made Pokemon game.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have captured the attention of Nintendo fans, as they eagerly await the arrival of a new Pokemon. The excitement surrounding the Pokemon Link Dimension project continues to grow, with its potential future developments yet to be seen.
For those who own a Nintendo Switch, the highly anticipated game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, is now available.
