After the conclusion of Season 2, Jujutsu Kaisen has made a lasting impact on the anime community. Now, a new series has emerged that has the potential to captivate fans just like its predecessor.
Crunchyroll remains the top choice for anime enthusiasts, offering a vast selection of Japanese animated shows and movies across various genres. Whether you're in the mood for action, romance, or comedy, you can trust Crunchyroll to deliver the perfect anime for you.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 premiered in the summer of last year and extended into the Fall 2023 lineup, as it consisted of two-cour season with a three-week hiatus. The prolonged presence of the anime has left fans grappling with the absence of "Jujutsu Kaisen Thursdays." However, a new anime from A-1 Pictures was recently simulcasted on Crunchyroll last weekend, potentially generating hype comparable to JJK.
New Crunchyroll anime is a must-watch for every Jujutsu Kaisen fan
On January 6, 2023, the anime adaptation of Solo Leveling, a well-known Korean graphic novel, premiered with its first episode – and we got instantly hooked on it.
Devoted fans of manga are probably well-acquainted with the immense popularity of Solo Leveling, despite its non-Japanese origins. Just a few chapters of this Korean webcomic can transport you to a whole new world that captivates you from the get-go. The character designs and intricate storytelling are truly outstanding.

The story kicks off with Sung Jin-Woo, an underachieving protagonist who joins the hunter’s troop to provide for his family. Despite his lack of skills, he is unable to advance to a higher rank. However, everything changes when he is bestowed with a mysterious RPG-like interface called ‘The System’ by a powerful entity. As he gains more power, Jin-Woo undergoes a captivating transformation, catching the attention of many young female fans of the series.
Jujutsu Kaisen has a special place in the hearts of many, but Solo Leveling's first episode is sure to captivate JJK fans. The long-term success of the show is uncertain, but the popular webtoon source material and A-1 Pictures' impressive action scenes are bound to attract even more fans. Only time will tell.

As a Gen Z netizen, I'm always on the lookout for the next big thing in anime. I was a huge fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, so when I heard about Solo Leveling, I was immediately intrigued. The first episode definitely lived up to my expectations! The animation was top-notch, the story was engaging, and the characters were well-developed. I can't wait to see what happens next.
I think Solo Leveling has the potential to be even more popular than Jujutsu Kaisen. The story is more unique and the characters are more relatable. I also think the fact that it's based on a Korean webcomic will help it appeal to a wider audience. I'm excited to see how this series progresses and I'm confident that it will be one of the most popular anime of the year.
