Skyrim fans have always been familiar with the game's glitches, some of which can be quite amusing. However, one particular glitch has recently gained attention for causing a rather uncomfortable situation for one player's Dragonborn hero. Despite being released in 2011, Skyrim's popularity has resulted in multiple console ports and subsequently, an ever-growing list of glitches. From towering grass to flying horses, players have seen it all. But for this Dragonborn, being trapped in a motionless stance while traversing the game's landscape was a unique and awkward experience.
A recent Skyrim clip shared by Reddit user Catherineshere shows the protagonist Dragonborn in Daedric armor lying on their back in a strange t-pose that clips through objects as the player moves the character around. Similar to other RPGs, players can get knocked down by different attacks, primarily a shout similar to the first one Skyrim's Dragonborn learns. Catherineshere suggests that one of these enemy shouts caused the Dragonborn to get stuck in the awkward position, which appears to be linked to the animation of the Dragonborn falling or getting back up.
Although the Dragonborn appears unable to interact with Skyrim's world as usual, Catherineshere confirmed that the game treated the character as if they weren't on the ground. Despite being unable to attack any enemies in this position, Catherineshere's Skyrim follower continued to pursue them, and they were able to jump even though the Dragonborn wasn't using their legs. According to Catherineshere, the Dragonborn could correct themselves by casting a Conjuration spell, indicating that using magic may be the key to escaping the t-pose.
It remains uncertain whether the use of Alteration, Destruction, or Illusion spells in Skyrim can aid players in resolving the glitch that caused Catherineshere's character to remain grounded. While Catherineshere suggested that a Conjuration spell could be effective, the effectiveness of other magic schools remains unknown. As Bethesda occasionally releases updates for Skyrim, it is possible that this glitch may be resolved in the future. The game is currently accessible for a variety of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
