Cave Mushrooms That Glow Quest Walkthrough
Throughout his journey in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Link encounters numerous characters who require his assistance, and some of them need his help more than once. Two such characters are Nat and Meghyn, sisters who will become recurring figures in Link's quest as they seek his aid in various explorative tasks. The first of their quests, "Cave Mushrooms That Glow," can be initiated by Tears of the Kingdom players who find the sisters in need.
Upon arriving at coordinates -3005, 1635, 0201, players will come across Nat and Meghyn standing outside a cave nestled in a cliff wall. The cave is conveniently located to the east of Oromuwak Shrine, which can be found at coordinates -3080, 1618, 0243, making it a prime spot for fast travel. The two sisters can be heard expressing their frustration with their current task, setting the stage for the player's next adventure.
The sisters urgently require Brightcap mushrooms, but Meghyn is hesitant to enter the cave due to the possibility of encountering unknown creatures. Nat reveals that they need 10 of these mushrooms, but doesn't provide a reason why she can't retrieve them herself. If Link happens to have ten Brightcap mushrooms, he can fulfill the "Cave Mushrooms That Glow" quest by simply handing them over to Nat.
As Link embarks on his quest for Brightcap mushrooms, he may find himself in need of venturing into the aptly named Brightcap Cave. Inside, the cave walls are adorned with the necessary purple-glowing mushrooms. However, he must be cautious of the Horriblin and Like Like enemies that lie ahead. Luckily, with a strategic use of nearby Bomb Flowers, Link can swiftly defeat these creatures and continue on his journey.
As the player delves deeper into the cave, they will come across a plentiful supply of Brightcap mushrooms, which are needed to fulfill the request of the sisters. However, before exiting the cave, it is worth exploring until the very end. Here, they will discover a small shrine that holds a chest surrounded by thorny vines, waiting to be opened.
The thorns blocking the path to the chest can easily be removed by burning them with fire. Link can use a Fire Fruit or any other flammable material to set the thorns on fire and wait for them to burn away. Once the path is cleared, the treasure can be claimed from the chest. Inside, Link will find the Frostbite Shirt, which is a part of the Frostbite Armor set. The shirt not only provides 2 Defense but also boosts the damage dealt by Link in cold environments.
Upon obtaining the treasure, Link can spot an intriguing sight to his upper right as he turns to exit the cave. A ledge with two Luminous Stone mineral veins can be seen leading up to the cave's ceiling. However, the path to the ledge is covered with thorns. Link can use fire to eradicate the thorny obstacle once again, granting him access to climb up to the ledge. Upon reaching the top, he can claim the mineral veins and face the Bubbulfrog, the cave's resident, to obtain its Bubbulgem. Once out of the cave, players can turn in the mushrooms to the sisters and receive a delicious reward - Spicy Tomato Mushroom Stew.
