Lone Starr successfully saves Vespa and her robot companion, Dot, from potential capture, but unfortunately, they find themselves stranded in a vast desert. It is there that Lone Starr meets the powerful Yogurt, who not only imparts knowledge about the ways of the Schwartz but also spends time with Princess Vespa, leading to a budding romantic connection between them. However, their peaceful time is interrupted when Helmet arrives, deceitfully tricks Vespa, and abducts her, leaving Lone Starr with the responsibility of rescuing her once again.

After acquiring the necessary codes to deactivate planet Druidia's protective shields, Vespa is imprisoned on board the formidable Spaceball One. In a daring assault, Lone Starr and Barf manage to successfully liberate Princess Vespa and make their escape, only to realize that the situation becomes even more intricate. Spaceball One undergoes a transformation, becoming a colossal mech-like entity called Mega-Maid, equipped with a powerful vacuum designed to extract all the air from Druidia. Lone Starr finds himself the sole hope yet again as he reverses the air's flow and infiltrates the structure to dismantle it.

Meanwhile, as the heroes flee, Dark Helmet, President Skroob, and Colonel Sandurz desperately search for an escape pod, only to discover that they have all been taken or occupied by unsavory individuals. Finally realizing that they could deactivate the self-destruct sequence by simply pressing a button, the villains find themselves helpless when the button is discovered to be malfunctioning. Left with no other options, the three villains resign themselves to their fate and bid each other a sarcastic "have a nice day" before the inevitable explosion, although they ultimately survive and find themselves marooned on a distant planet.

Later, Lone Starr discovers that Pizza The Hutt is no longer a concern as he devoured himself, yet both he and Barf experience a sense of purposelessness. Upon examining the fortunetelling token bestowed upon him by Yogurt, Lone Starr realizes that he is, in fact, a prince, granting him the opportunity to return for Princess Vespa.
