The Jujutsu Kaisen anime is currently at the height of the Shibuya Incident arc, and it will soon showcase a moment that manga fans know well: the fight between Dagon and Toji Fushiguro. Despite being an underrated Curse in the series, Dagon proves himself to be a formidable enemy through his actions in Shibuya.
Toji makes a grand entrance in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime while Maki, Nanami, Megumi, and Naobito struggle to confront Dagon. Although this battle may not be Toji's most renowned (that distinction belongs to his fight against Satoru Gojo), it highlights his skills as a fighter and the dangerous threat that Dagon poses.

Who is Dagon in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Dagon in Jujutsu Kaisen was an interesting ally of Kenjaku's (among his team of Curses) because he evolved a lot more compared to his comrades.
Initially shy and with a smaller body as a Cursed Womb, Dagon underwent a transformation during the Shibuya Incident arc. He reached his full potential, developing a more intelligent and proud personality. In no time, he easily defeated Naobito, Nanmi, Megumi, and Maki.
Dagon's immense power stems from his origins as a Curse born from water-based natural disasters, granting him the ability to manipulate water. This alone caused trouble for experienced sorcerers Naobito and Nanami, who are both Grade 1. The situation escalated further when Dagon utilized his Domain Expansion, transporting everyone to a beach-like realm.
How Toji managed to defeat Dagon in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga
In the first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, Kenjaku, Mahito, and the other Curses found solace on this beach. It provided the ideal setting for Dagon's Shikigami to efficiently strike their targets, exacerbating the situation for the sorcerers.
Upon entering the battlefield in the manga, Toji surprised Dagon by not possessing any Cursed Energy, which led Dagon to underestimate him. However, this turned out to be Dagon's downfall. Toji displayed an extraordinary level of physical prowess, overpowering both Dagon's Shikigami and Dagon himself. This unexpected feat astonished the Disaster Curse.
During the ongoing battle, Dagon, realizing he was outmatched by Toji, chose to temporarily retreat and remain inactive. Toji relentlessly attacked, repeatedly stabbing the Curse until its ability to regenerate was ultimately ineffective.
Although this encounter was brief and heavily one-sided, it emphasized two important factors: Toji's exceptional fighting style, which sets him apart from others, and the fact that Dagon could not be defeated by a conventional sorcerer. Toji demonstrated his superior strength and speed compared to Dagon.
Final thoughts
The fight between Toji and Dogan in Jujutsu Kaisen is often overlooked in the series, largely due to the formidable opponent that the seasoned Fushiguro man had to confront. Despite this, it was an incredibly captivating battle, and it is highly anticipated that MAPPA will do it justice in the anime adaptation.
