Granny Ogami, a curse user, performed a séance on Toji during the Shibuya Incident arc. She had teamed up with Pseudo-Geto with the intention of engaging in criminal activities once Gojo was sealed. With her unique skill, she had the ability to transform herself or another person into a deceased individual.

During the Shibuya Incident arc, she utilized the body of her adopted grandson to summon Toji Fushiguro. However, Ogami only summoned information from the body and not the soul. This allowed the shape-shifter to utilize the physical abilities of the séance's target without bringing back their true personality.

Subsequently, the father and son engage in a brief altercation before the series unravels Toji's true motive for selling Megumi to the Zenin Clan. Toji was aware that due to the Clan's decline, they would highly value Megumi, the inheritor of their esteemed innate technique. Recognizing his incapability to care for such a young child, Toji sold him for an appropriate sum.

Upon recollecting his past, Toji immediately inquired about Megumi's name. The Sorcerer Killer was relieved to discover that Megumi did not bear the Zenin surname, signifying that Gojo had saved him from the Zenin Clan. Toji, unwilling to endanger Megumi's life due to his own lack of control, made the decision to inflict a fatal wound upon himself by stabbing his own head.

Once again, he met his demise without ever disclosing his true identity to his son. Yet, Toji's second death absolved him of his greatest regret in life. In his final moments at the hands of Gojo, he swallowed his pride and subtly implored the young Gojo to rescue Megumi from the clutches of the Zenins.
