Dakota Johnson loves Chris Martin's children dearly. In an interview with Bustle on March 5, the 34-year-old actress expressed her deep affection for them. "I care for those kids with all my heart, like my life depends on it," she said.
Coldplay's lead singer has two children, Apple, who is 19, and Moses, who is 17, with his former wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
After his split from Paltrow in 2014 and finalizing their divorce in 2016, Martin, who is now 47, began dating Dakota Johnson in 2017.
After spending the last seven years bonding with Moses and Apple, Johnson expressed her openness to having her own children.
"I'm really open to that. I've reached a point where I truly want to explore all that life has to offer," she shared. "As a woman, I think it would be such a magical and extraordinary experience. If it's meant to be for me, I'm completely on board."

Johnson recently expressed a realization about the brevity of life, stating, "I’ve been really tripping out recently, like, we’re not here for very long. So if I’m meant to be a mother, bring it on."
Growing up in a show business family with parents Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, the Fifty Shades franchise alum shares that her mother, now 66, was very open-minded and liberal about sex during her teenage years.
Dakota remembered how fortunate she was to have a mom who was very open, sometimes even too open, about sexuality. Her mom always encouraged her to communicate about her interests and when she was ready for sex, offering to provide birth control. This openness created a healthy environment for Dakota to explore her sexuality independently, a gift she truly appreciated. In some societies, there has been progress towards acceptance of individuals who identify as non-binary, a significant advancement in understanding gender diversity.
Being the child of two famous parents, Dakota had certain privileges while growing up. However, she prefers not to be referred to as a "nepo baby."
Hoda Kotb asked Dakota about her thoughts on the term during an interview on Today, which took place on Wednesday, February 7. Dakota, known for her role in Madame Web, didn't hold back her opinion. She expressed, "When that first started, I found it to be incredibly annoying and boring. If you’re a journalist, write about something else. That’s just lame. So the opportunity to make fun of it, I jumped at."
The chance to poke fun at the situation arose on February 27 during an episode of Saturday Night Live. In a video by Please Don’t Destroy, Dakota met with John Higgins and Martin Herlihy, who are the sons of SNL legends Steve Higgins and Tim Herlihy. The group playfully exchanged teasing remarks before eventually agreeing to a "nepo truce." However, this agreement was short-lived as they quickly resumed teasing each other with lighthearted banter.
Johnson recalls catching the acting bug from watching her famous parents in action. Her acting journey started at the age of 10 in 1999 with her role in Crazy in Alabama, playing her mother's daughter.
Although Griffith encouraged her to pursue acting like her, her father, aged 74, insisted that Dakota complete her education before diving fully into the industry.
Dakota didn't want to take the financial support offered by the former Miami Vice star and her siblings for college. Instead, she opted to pursue her own path. She shared on Today that she had to rely on modeling gigs to support herself while trying out for acting opportunities.
“I definitely had moments where I couldn’t afford groceries and things like that and needed to ask my mom to help me,” she recalled. “She was the nice one.”
