Season 9 of Bachelor in Paradise was packed with drama, but three couples emerged stronger than the others.
Upon arriving at the beach in Mexico, Aven Jones and Kylee Russell immediately formed a strong connection, and as the season finale aired on Thursday, December 7, they still seemed to be going strong.
The couple had differing ideas for their future when it came to making important decisions. Kylee, 26, hoped for an engagement while Aven, 30, wanted to prioritize spending more time together before taking that step. In a candid conversation, Aven questioned why an engagement was the only way for Kylee to believe he saw a future with her, while Kylee expressed frustration that they were not on the same page about it, despite her belief that Aven was "The One" for her.
“We are in a really good place,” Aven said, expressing his happiness in the relationship while acknowledging Kylee’s noticeable change in energy.
“I have never been more certain about someone in a long time, and I am doing my best to consider her feelings. I know she wants an engagement, but I don't want to regret it if things don't work out,” Aven explained in his confessional. “I can't help but compare the dynamics of Paradise to those in the real world. It's a risk I can't take.”

In the end, Aven and Kylee agreed that they didn’t want to “lose” each other over an argument and left the beach as a couple — without an engagement.
In season 9, Eliza Isichei and Aaron Bryant were confident in their relationship. They openly expressed their love, went on an overnight date, and got engaged before leaving Paradise.
During the finale, 30-year-old Aaron declared, "I can definitely see myself spending the rest of my life with Eliza. It's for eternity."

Joining them as the second engaged couple of the season was John Henry Spurlock and Kat Izzo.
"Spending time with you makes me feel like I've found a once-in-a-lifetime love," Kat, 27, expressed to John Henry, 31, moments before he popped the question. "I want you to always remember that I love you, John Henry, and I want to be with you forever."
