Meet Gorecrusher the Behemoth, a formidable level 83 boss in V Rising. Known for his unwavering loyalty to Dracula, this fierce creature is one of the most lethal enemies you will encounter in battle. As a Soul Shard-carrier boss, he is a force to be reckoned with and will stop at nothing to protect his master's domain.

The Lair of the Behemoth, situated in the northeastern part of the Cursed Forest, is home to the mighty Gorecrusher the Behemoth. The battle happens within the lair, rendering the time of day insignificant.

As with all Shard-carrying bosses, Gorecrusher can be traced using the Eye of Twilight, a tracking facility accessible after finishing the Throne of Command mission.

The Eye of Twilight displays the Soul Shard as a prominent white pillar, indicating its exact whereabouts. However, on the PvP server, only one of each Soul Shard exists, and if claimed, the white pillar will instead lead players to the current location of the shard, while Gorecrusher can still be defeated in his lair. Conversely, on the PvE server, an unlimited supply of Soul Shards exists, and the white pillar on the Eye of Twilight will direct players to both Gorecrusher and the Soul Shard.

Weapons and Equipment

Ideal weapons and spells are crucial for winning this fight. Dark Silver Crossbow and Sanguine Crossbow, along with Slashers, make for effective weapons. Meanwhile, Mirror Strike, Chaos Volley, Veil of Chaos, and the Ward of the Damned are the best spells for the battle. Don't forget to use Witch Potions to amplify spell powers and choose Scholar blood type to increase damage.

Gorecrusher’s Attacks

Charge Attack

Gorecrusher has the ability to charge down the arena and stun players with his attack, and when he does, players should dodge the attack to avoid damage.

Triple Slam

As Gorecrusher pounds the ground with a triple slam, the resulting cracks are not to be taken lightly. These fractures can cause severe harm to any player standing upon them, erupting without warning. For this reason, it is crucial to step away from the cracks as soon as possible.

Leaping Attack

When facing Gorecrusher, players need to be aware of the V Blood Boss's ability to leap towards them from a distance, causing an area-of-effect damage that can be identified by a circular pattern on the ground. If caught in this situation, it's best to swiftly move out of the circle to avoid taking damage.

Animal Summons

At the brink of defeat, Gorecrusher unleashes a fierce assault by summoning a bear and a wolf to join the fray. Spectral Clone

Gorecrusher's Wisp Dance is a devastating ability that triggers when his health reaches the halfway mark. This move releases blue wisps in all directions, which can deal massive damage to any player who comes in contact with them.

When Gorecrusher's HP reaches 30%, he unleashes his deadliest move - a spectral clone of himself that mimics all his attacks and targets the player. While this clone cannot be defeated, it can be stunned for a brief period if the player launches a ferocious attack. However, it will eventually recover and continue its assault. As this clone is essentially the manifestation of Gorecrusher's soul, defeating Gorecrusher will also eliminate the clone.

Strategies

Staying too far from Gorecrusher during the fight might not be the best strategy as it gives him the advantage to launch Leap and Charge attacks on the player. Instead, staying behind him can provide a safe spot. The Dark Silver Crossbow and Slashers are effective weapons to use against him, with Slashers being useful for dodging his attacks. Veil of Chaos is a recommended travel ability to outrun his leap, charge, and slam attacks while Chaos Volley is a magical spell that shoots two chaos firebolts at the opponent, which is particularly effective against the wolf and bear summons. It’s best to target the weaker wolf first. When Gorecrusher’s HP is approaching 50%, it’s wise to bring him towards the edge of the arena to reduce the effectiveness of the Wisp Dance attack. Ward of the Damned is a great defensive spell to use as it not only creates a barrier against the enemy’s attacks but also summons a skeleton for each absorbed attack. This shifts the enemy's focus from the player to the skeleton, giving the player more time to attack. However, be cautious with the timing of the spell during the Animal Summons as it may cause Gorecrusher to summon extra wolves and bears to deal with the skeleton, thus doubling the player's work.
