When it comes to facing Gentle Gaverus, the task may seem straightforward on paper. However, the real challenge lies in the constant presence of a pack of dogs that relentlessly pursue players throughout the entire encounter. Dealing with the dogs themselves is not overly difficult, but their protective steel muzzles and sheer numbers, combined with Gaverus' long-range attacks, create a highly overwhelming battle.
The most effective approach to handling the dogs is to utilize a powerful two-handed weapon such as a spear, staff, or any of the grand weapons. These weapons not only excel at striking multiple enemies simultaneously, but they also overcome the dogs' armored snouts, which repel attacks from one-handed weapons like short swords and hatchets. One strategy to consider is aligning Gaverus and her dogs in a formation that allows for a single swing to hit them all at once.
Dodging Gaverus' attacks is a breeze by moving sideways, allowing players to conserve stamina for longer attack sequences. When she kneels down, seize the moment to sprint behind her and deliver a swift barrage of hits.
Utilize AOE ranged attacks frequently. The Hallowed Knight's grenades are especially effective as they can damage both Gaverus and the accompanying dogs simultaneously. Additionally, the Blessed Reflections Radiance spell stands out for its formidable power, assuming players have acquired it from Molhu at Skyrest Bridge.
When engaging this boss, prioritize your attention on Gaverus while maintaining awareness of the attack dogs in your peripheral vision. The dogs exhibit easily anticipated movements that can be effortlessly evaded. Continually monitor the enemy positions and gradually deplete Gaverus' HP until she is defeated.
Lords of the Fallen is now accessible on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
