Chrishell Stause Joins Australian Soap Opera ‘Neighbours’ Cast: ‘Back to My First Love’

Chrishell Stause is making a return to her roots by joining the cast of the Australian soap opera Neighbours.
"I am thrilled and honored to be a part of such a beloved and iconic show!" Stause, who is 42 years old, expressed in a press release statement on Wednesday, May 29. "Having come from the world of American soap operas, it feels like a homecoming to my first love in the entertainment industry. When they presented me with a character concept, I was immediately enthusiastic about finding a way to bring it to life. Ramsay Street, here I come!"
Amazon Freevee has recently announced that Chrishell Stause will be joining the cast of Neighbours. She will be playing a character named Yasmine “Yas” Shields, described as a glamorous and successful businesswoman in search of new opportunities. Stause is set to start filming in Australia in July.
The show's executive producer, Jason Herbison, expressed his excitement about Stause joining the show. He mentioned that a character was specifically created for her and that they are eager to see her bring the storyline to life. After leaving All My Children, Stause joined the cast of Days of Our Lives two years later. She played the character Jordan Ridgeway on and off from 2013 to 2023. In 2020, Stause received a Daytime Emmy nomination for her outstanding performance on the show.

Stause appeared regularly on The Young and the Restless in 2016, playing the character Bethany Bryant.
Neighbours made its debut in Australia back in 1985. This enduring series chronicles the ups and downs of the people living on Ramsay Street, a fictional neighborhood near Melbourne. The show has been a launching pad for numerous celebrities, such as Russell Crowe, Kylie Minogue, Margot Robbie, and others.
After running for over four decades, the show was cancelled in 2022. However, Amazon Freevee decided to pick up the show after its series finale. In September 2023, the soap made its return to TV screens. The show gained popularity worldwide, including in the U.K. and the U.S.
This year, Neighbours became eligible for the Daytime Emmy Awards for the first time. It received two nominations - Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series for Guy Pearce. Pearce has been part of the series on and off since 1986, portraying the character of Mike Young.
