From Reality TV to Stardom: Chrishell Stause Reflects on a Year that Exceeded Expectations

Chrishell Stause reflects on her journey as one of Us Weekly's Reality Stars of the Year, discussing feuds, fame, finding confidence, and the rewarding experiences that made it all worthwhile

Selling Sunset fans are initially drawn to the extravagant homes and eye-catching fashion, but they become captivated by the ups and downs of Chrishell Stause. In 2019, she joined as the Oppenheim Group's charming and soft-spoken agent, but quickly became entangled in a series of conflicts that blurred the boundaries between her professional and personal life.

In hindsight, Chrishell reflects that if she could turn back time to the beginning of filming, she would advise herself to stay focused and prepared.

Stause reveals that her initial expectation for Selling Sunset was that it would primarily focus on the agents' professional journeys. As someone who was relatively new to real estate, she was willing to showcase her job-related challenges and setbacks.

She says, "I had sold a few houses before, but never on the extravagant level that we see on the show. So, I believed the series would revolve around that aspect. However, the show took an unexpected turn and became much more personal than I had anticipated."

Despite her initial worries about appearing foolish, Stause swiftly adapted to unforeseen circumstances. "Once things slipped from my grasp, I wholeheartedly embraced the challenge," she affirmatively acknowledges. "Although this course of action wasn't my first choice, it ultimately proved to be a path I welcomed."

Despite experiencing numerous breakups and enduring numerous confrontations, Stause's vulnerability has only made her more endearing to her millions of fans, who are eager to see her succeed in both her professional and personal life. According to Stause, the positive connection she has made with her audience outweighs any negativity she may face, making it all worthwhile. Now, she is much more self-assured and happily involved with G-Flip, a talented Australian musician whom she married in May. Additionally, she no longer shies away from conflicts, as demonstrated by her engaging in verbal sparring with her new castmate, Nicole Young, in season 6.

"Admitting that I could have handled things better, there is no doubt," Stause acknowledges. "However, if you constantly place me in those circumstances and consistently intensify the pressure, it is likely to occur again."

As for season 7, set to premiere on November 3, Stause hints that fans can anticipate a continued abundance of dramatic moments.

"The things that irritate me will continue to irritate me. And the things that bring me joy and allow me to be playful, I will continue to embrace," she says. "While people may enjoy the drama, it's also entertaining to see others having a good time and being silly. Despite any disagreements, most of the girls have become like family to me."

Stause's unwavering authenticity remains constant. "I've experienced numerous challenging situations, such as the loss of cherished individuals, the complexities of relationships, and the terrifying experience of coming out on television," she discloses. "Yet, I genuinely believe that I have evolved alongside the people in my life."

Now, her confidence radiates brightly. "I have never been happier," she declares. "In the past, I constantly questioned myself. However, I have reached a point where I no longer care. This is my life, and I will show its beauty, flaws, and imperfections. The ability to simply live, regardless of others' approval, has granted me the ultimate sense of liberation."
