Chelsea are currently engaging in negotiations with Leeds' Tyler Adams as they aim to secure the services of two new midfielders for the upcoming summer transfer window. The 24-year-old Adams is believed to have a release clause of £20m, and Chelsea is currently deliberating on whether to proceed with the payment or explore the possibility of a structured agreement.
Brighton still prioritizes Moises Caicedo as their main target, while also considering a potential deal for Southampton's Romeo Lavia.
Last summer, Adams joined Leeds from RB Leipzig in a transfer worth approximately £20m. However, he experienced relegation with the club during his debut season, featuring in 26 matches across all competitions.
Chelsea are anticipated to submit a revised proposal for Caicedo, as they aim to secure his services. Amidst the ongoing speculation surrounding his future, the player was granted a weekend off and consequently did not participate in Brighton's final pre-season match against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. Brighton, however, turned down Chelsea's most recent offer of £80m, as they hold a valuation in the vicinity of £100m.
Caicedo desires to join Chelsea, while Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi confesses uncertainty about his stay at the club by the end of the transfer window. Chelsea maintains their interest in Lavia, and Southampton is aware of this. Additionally, Liverpool's two bids for Lavia have been turned down. The negotiation of personal terms between Lavia and Chelsea is anticipated to proceed smoothly.
