Candace Cameron Bure Reflects on 28 Years of Marriage with Divine Guidance

Celebrating nearly three decades of marriage, Candace Cameron Bure opens up about the enduring strength of her relationship with husband Val, crediting their lasting bond to faith and divine intervention.

Candace Cameron Bure and her husband, Valeri Bure, are celebrating 28 years of marriage this June. However, the actress revealed that their journey together has had its challenges.

Candace, 48, shared exclusively with Us while promoting her upcoming movie Unsung Hero that no marriage is perfect. She acknowledged that they have faced trials along the way but expressed gratitude for staying strong and committed.

Bure credits their lasting marriage to a strong foundation of love and respect for each other. She also acknowledges the role of faith, saying it is by the grace of God that they are still together despite facing challenges.

In 1994, Candace and Valeri were set up by her Full House costar Dave Coulier. They got married in 1996 and have three children together - daughter Natasha in 1998 and sons Lev and Maksim in 2000 and 2002, respectively.

Candace shared with Us that their main goal is to always prioritize each other's well-being. They are committed to doing whatever it takes to stay united. It often involves being selfless, letting go of control, and focusing on working through challenges together. Marriage requires humility and setting aside one's pride to make the relationship thrive.

Candace Cameron Bure and her husband Valeri Bure have always prioritized family. The Full House star made the decision to step away from acting in the early 2000s to focus on raising her young children. This choice had a significant impact on both her career and her mental health.

"When I decided to leave my career behind and focus on raising my children, I wasn't sure if I would ever be able to have a career again, even though I really wanted one. It felt like a huge loss," she shared. "Years later, when I tried to re-enter the workforce and wondered if anyone would still want to hire me, it felt like starting from the bottom and working my way back up."

Candace also mentioned that she has faced similar challenges in her marriage. "I've had to work my way up from difficult times in my marriage, starting over when things were tough," she explained.

Candace's family life has also played a role in her career. In an interview with Us, she mentioned that her marriage and parenting experiences influenced her latest role.

Who do you think is the ultimate Hollywood power couple of all time?

"I really connect with the film in many ways," she said of Unsung Hero, a movie she not only stars in but also produced. The storyline follows David Smallbone (played by Joel Smallbone), his pregnant wife Helen (portrayed by Daisy Betts), and their seven children as they leave Australia to start anew in America.

"I see a lot of parallels with my own life," Candance shared. "My husband is an immigrant who came to this country when he was just 17, working hard to build a life here." She continued, "I also deeply relate to Helen as a mother. I look up to her strength and resilience, striving to be like her."

Unsung Hero premieres in theaters on April 26.
