Bungie accidentally updated the descriptions of certain exotic gear items in Destiny 2, revealing upcoming changes to their functionality in Season 23.

The leaked information had an impact on four Hunter exotics, as well as on one piece of Titan and Warlock gear each, enhancing their exotic traits with new functionalities.

Alongside these gear modifications, Season 23 will introduce significant changes to Destiny 2's in-game economy. This includes the discontinuation of Legendary Shards and the implementation of a fresh method for acquiring weapons from specific vendors.

Bungie has provided an update regarding changes to certain exotic gear in Season 23 following an unintended leak of details for Destiny 2. Destiny 2, the popular online shooter from Bungie, constantly evolves through seasonal updates, expansions, patches, and other regular updates. These updates are crucial in keeping Destiny 2 feeling fresh, contributing to its continued success and large player base six years after its initial release.

Like in previous seasons, Season 23 of Destiny 2 will bring significant updates, including tweaks, changes, and balance adjustments for gear and weapons. Additionally, another major mid-season update will follow, further enhancing the game. As Season of the Witch approaches its end, Bungie has begun discussing what players can expect in Season 23 and beyond. In a recent update, Bungie accidentally revealed additional functionality for several exotic gear items, such as Shards of Galanor and Karnstein Armlets, in addition to their original descriptions.

This accident has been clarified in a recent post by Bungie on the Destiny subReddit. The post states that the exotic tuning changes will go live in Season 23 and the list of tweaks shown is not exhaustive. The exotic items will continue to function as they currently do until Season 23 arrives, except for Young Ahamkara's Spine and Antaeus Wards, which have already been altered in the recent midseason update.

The community reacted positively to the post, appreciating the studio's prompt communication. Some community members also took the opportunity to request or share their opinions on further changes to Destiny 2 exotic armor. The leaked information currently affects four Hunter exotics: ST0MP-EE5, Shards of Galanor, Mechaneer's Tricksleeves, and Celestial Nighthawk. Only one Titan exotic, Synthoceps, and one Warlock gear, Karnstein Armlets, have been impacted for now. The exotic trait descriptions have been updated, although the gear's functionality remains the same for now.

Season 23 of Destiny 2 brings not only exciting exotic gear changes but also significant alterations to the game. A notable change is the complete phasing out of Legendary Shards, a fundamental resource in Destiny 2. This shift will have a profound impact on the in-game economy and how players acquire weapons and gear from vendors.

One of the new methods introduced is through Banshee-44, the Tower Gunsmith. He will now offer Destiny 2 players a selection of weapons specific to different foundries each day. This means that players can focus on obtaining desired perk rolls on weapons from Suros, Hakke, Veist, and Omolon by utilizing their engrams at Banshee.

Destiny 2 is currently playable on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
