Bundesliga Giants Bayern Munich Eyeing David Raya as Potential Goalkeeper Signing, Talks with Brentford Underway

Bayern Munich eyes Brentford goalkeeper David Raya as a potential replacement for Yann Sommer With one year left on his contract, Raya's future hangs in the balance Follow the summer transfer window with Sky Sports

Bayern Munich have initiated negotiations with Brentford for the acquisition of goalkeeper David Raya, however, they have not yet met the transfer fee expectations set by the English club. Brentford has placed a valuation of £40m on the Spanish international.

Raya has one year remaining on his Brentford contract and expressed his readiness to take the next step in his career this summer. Nonetheless, even after acquiring Mark Flekken as an additional goalkeeper to challenge Thomas Strakosha, the Bees are willing to retain three top keepers unless their specified value is fulfilled.

Raya was also sought after by Tottenham and Manchester United this summer, but they have since secured the signings of Guglielmo Vicario and Andre Onana respectively. Bayern Munich has now shown interest in Raya as they search for a replacement for Yann Sommer, who is currently in negotiations with Inter Milan.

Raya went to the USA as a member of the Brentford squad for the Premier League Summer Series. However, Flekken was chosen by Thomas Frank for the matches against Fulham and Brighton. The 27-year-old, who joined the Bees from Blackburn in the summer of 2019, has accumulated 161 appearances across all competitions.
