Bayern Munich are in advanced negotiations to sign Manchester City defender Kyle Walker, according to Sky in Germany.
The 33-year-old has one year left on his deal at the Etihad.
Sky Germany reports that Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of Bayern and former Chelsea manager, played a pivotal role in persuading Walker to join the Bundesliga champions. In the Champions League final, Pep Guardiola, the head coach of City, opted for Manuel Akanji over Walker in the defense, leaving him on the bench.
Guardiola stated in April that Walker was not suited to play in City's system, resulting in John Stones transitioning from defense to midfield. This occurred during a period when the England international had been benched.
"He is unable to do it," Guardiola commented about Walker. "He will always possess his speed; even at 60 years old, Kyle would be the fastest player in this room. However, playing in a central position requires refined movements, and he lacks some of these essential attributes."
Walker, who made the switch from Tottenham to City for a hefty fee of £50m in 2017, has enjoyed a highly successful tenure in Manchester, securing an impressive tally of five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and the coveted Champions League trophy during his six-year stint.

Man City will not stand in Bernardo Silva's way if he wishes to leave the club.
Paris Saint-Germain has expressed their interest in acquiring the player, with Barcelona also being long-term admirers of the talented Portugal international.
Silva had reportedly contemplated leaving City last summer, but a move never materialized.
Meanwhile, City are continuing talks over the signing of midfielder Matteo Kovacic from Chelsea.

Ilkay Gundogan kisses the Champions League trophy
Barcelona are looking to sign at least one new midfielder this summer and remain keen on City captain Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer.
The negotiations between Gundogan and City for a new contract are currently ongoing as his current contract is due to expire at the end of the month. Nevertheless, the duration of the proposed deal for the 32-year-old has become a point of contention. The offer is for a one-year contract with an additional option for a further 12 months.
Barca are thought to be among the clubs willing to offer him a longer deal, while Arsenal are also interested in Gundogan.
