Bruce Springsteen has postponed four European tour dates due to “vocal issues.” The 74-year-old singer, known for hits like “Born In The USA,” canceled a show in Marseille, France on Friday, May 24. His doctors advised him not to perform for the next ten days, leading to the postponement of a May 28 show in Prague and two June concerts in Milan. The announcement was made on Sunday, May 26.
Springsteen's team announced on Instagram that new dates for the shows will be revealed soon. They mentioned that Bruce is recovering well and is looking forward to continuing the European stadium tour with the E Street Band starting on June 12 in Madrid at the Civitas Metropolitan.
Before the shows were postponed, Springsteen's 2024 world tour had been going smoothly. In February of last year, COVID-19 affected some members of the E Street Band temporarily. Stevie Van Zandt, Patti Scialfa, and Soozie Tyrell had to take a break from touring. Stevie even apologized to fans on X for the inconvenience.
Springsteen had to delay a portion of his U.S. tour in late 2023 due to peptic ulcer disease. The ulcers caused him a lot of pain and made it difficult for him to sing properly. At one point, he even feared that he might never be able to perform again.
After recovering, Springsteen shared with SiriusXM’s E Street Radio that the pain in his diaphragm was so intense that he couldn't sing at all for two to three months. The experience was challenging, with various other painful issues adding to his discomfort.

"I was worried about whether I would be able to sing again, which is something I love to do the most. The doctors took some time to reassure me that I would be okay, which made me nervous at first."
Fortunately, after my doctors reassured me, I was able to reschedule those missed dates earlier this year before starting my European tour.
Springsteen’s team will honor the already-purchased tickets at the rescheduled shows, but anyone who wants a refund can seek them at their point of purchase.
