Britney Spears is giving fans a glimpse into her close bond with her brother. The 41-year-old pop icon shared a photo on Instagram showing her older sibling, Bryan Spears, dressed in a green jumpsuit, hard hat, and protective glasses. She affectionately captioned the post on Tuesday, November 28, describing Bryan as both a father figure and her best friend, while poking fun at his outfit.
In her recent memoir, The Woman in Me, Britney opened up about her close relationship with her brother Bryan, 46. She revealed that their bond grew even stronger after he was severely injured in an ATV accident, leading her to sleep in his bedroom for years. "The accident made me much closer to my brother. Our bond was formed out of my sincere, genuine recognition of his pain," she wrote.
Britney expressed her sympathy for Bryan as they grew up, as their father, Jamie Spears, had very high expectations for his only son. Bryan eventually joined Britney's management team and worked as a producer on their sister Jamie Lynn Spears' Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101. In July 2020, he discussed Britney's conservatorship on an episode of the "As Not Seen on TV" podcast, expressing that it has "been a positive thing for our family so far, and [we] remain hopeful for the future."
He added, “I know what she wants, but at the end of the day, what is the reality of that?”
Britney Spears married Sam Asghari in June 2022, and following the event, Bryan's girlfriend, Amber Lynn Conklin, stated that he was not present at the wedding because of his daughter's graduation. Britney promptly addressed the claim, making it clear that her brother was not invited to the wedding.
Britney wrote on Instagram in a now-deleted post, "Why even respond if you were never invited to my wedding?? Do you honestly think I want my brother there, who told me no to a jack and coke for 4 years?" She alleged that Bryan and the rest of her family never wanted the conservatorship to end because they loved telling her what to do and treating her like nothing. Britney also claimed that Bryan wouldn't allow her to have a sip of his cocktail during her Las Vegas residency, despite allegedly letting his 5-year-old daughter put her hand in her mother's wine.

Moreover, Britney commented on Bryan's "As Not Seen on TV" podcast interview, expressing her gratitude for the special and positive experience. She stated that she understood that there were no ill intentions from him and the family during the conservatorship, and all she truly desired was to be treated with respect and enjoy a simple glass of red wine.
Following the official termination of her conservatorship in November 2021 after 13 years, Britney expressed her overwhelming emotions on Instagram, mentioning that she would spend the rest of the day crying tears of joy. She referred to it as the best day ever and thanked the Lord, asking for an "Amen" in celebration of her freedom.
