Britney Spears has plenty to say about her ex-husband Kevin Federline's previous rap career - and she's not hesitating to voice her thoughts. In her upcoming memoir, The Woman in Me, the 41-year-old singer subtly throws shade at the now 45-year-old Federline for taking his rap career "so seriously," according to a reliable source. In her writing, she humorously remarks, "Bless his heart."
Federline, known as K-Fed, released music during their marriage. His first single, "Y'all Ain't Ready," was released in 2005, followed by his debut album, Playing With Fire, the next year.
In her book, Spears discusses the public's skepticism towards Federline's career. She recalls wishing for a stronger presence from him in their marriage.
Spears and Federline crossed paths in 2004 and publicly declared their engagement in the same year. The UPN series Britney and Kevin: Chaotic, consisting of five episodes in 2005, uncovered the couple's secretive September 2004 wedding. In November 2006, Spears and Federline, parents to Preston (now 18) and Jayden (now 17), announced their intentions to legally separate. Their divorce was officially concluded in July of the subsequent year.
During her 2008 MTV documentary, Spears candidly confessed, "Upon reflection, I realized that I married for all the wrong reasons. Instead of listening to what my heart desired and pursuing something that genuinely brought me joy, I made the decision based on external factors and the notion of an idealized concept."

After their separation, Spears and Federline continued to co-parent their sons. However, it was not always smooth sailing for them. In "The Woman in Me," Spears discloses that in 2007, she shaved her head partly because of a dispute with Federline involving their children.
Although Spears adores her sons, her bond with Preston and Jayden has become strained, particularly after they chose not to attend her wedding to her now-estranged husband, Sam Asghari, in June 2022.
Jayden expressed remorse for his perception that their mother, Mom, has faced challenges in giving them both equal attention and love. In a September 2022 interview with the Daily Mail, he voiced his concern, particularly for his brother Preston. He deeply empathized with their shared experiences of significant pressure in the past, and considered their current situation as a safe haven. This environment allows them to address and heal from the emotional trauma they have encountered, focusing on their mental well-being.
In response to Jayden's remarks, Spears took to Instagram and emphasized that her love for her sons knows no limits. She expressed her desire to have future conversations with them, highlighting her openness to understanding and resolving any issues.
Federline's attorney disclosed in May that he intended to relocate to Hawaii alongside Preston and Jayden, seeking Spears' approval. On her behalf, her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, granted consent to the move.
According to a source, "Britney has always held onto the hope of reconciling with her children." However, the source also mentioned that she hasn't seen them in a significant period and is uncertain about when she will have the opportunity to see them again, considering their upcoming move to Hawaii.
The insider mentioned that there will be a change in the relationship between Spears and her sons and expressed hope for making plans with them soon. The release date for The Woman in Me is set for Tuesday, October 24.
