Britney Spears Reveals Songwriting Success for Other Artists, but Declares No Plans for Music Comeback

Britney Spears dismisses rumors of a new album, asserting she won't make a comeback in her own right However, she has contributed her songwriting skills to others, penning over 20 tracks

Britney Spears has denied recent reports claiming that she is working on a new album. In a post on her verified Instagram account, the singer clarified that she is not back in the studio, adding in the caption next to a well-known painting of Salome, "Just so we're clear, most of the news is trash!"

The caption read, "Despite what they keep saying about me working on a new album with random people, I will never return to the music industry! When I write, it's for fun or for other artists!" Since her last full album "Glory" was released in 2016, Spears has only released occasional singles such as "Hold Me Closer" with Elton John in 2022 and "Mind Your Business" with Will.i.am last year.

Despite not releasing much of her own material recently, Spears revealed in a post this week that she has been working behind the scenes as a ghostwriter. She wrote, "I've written over 20 songs for other people in the past two years. I'm a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way!"

She also wrote that it was "far from the truth" that her 2023 biography "The Woman in Me" was released illegally without her approval.
