There are positive developments in Britney Spears' tumultuous relationship with her mother, Lynne Spears. An exclusive source tells We that Britney is pleased with the direction things are headed in with her mom. While plans have not been finalized, there is a possibility of Britney spending the holidays with her mom and brother, Bryan Spears.
Progress is being made in the mother-daughter relationship, but there is still much to be resolved, according to an insider. The source highlighted that Britney, 42, and Lynne, 68, are in regular communication, indicating that the lines of communication have been reopened. Despite Britney's previous criticism of Lynne's treatment during her conservatorship, the pop star shared that they have started to reconcile, with Lynne visiting Britney after a three-year absence. In May, Britney expressed hope for healing, saying, "With family there’s always things that need to be worked out … but time heals all wounds!!!"
Following her breakup with Sam Asghari, a source told Us in August that Britney was considering repairing her relationship with her mom. The insider noted that Britney is aware that it would take time and isn't sure if their connection could fully recover, but she's open to the possibility. Despite this, Britney didn't hesitate to call out Lynne in her memoir, "The Woman in Me," for profiting off her difficult times by writing about her 2007 public breakdown in her 2008 book, "Through the Storm."
Britney also detailed the specific instance when she came to the realization that she never wanted to see her family members again. While visiting her parents in Louisiana amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Britney learned that her cherished Madame Alexander doll collection had been discarded, causing her to feel as though her family had abandoned her.
Lynne posted on Instagram to reassure Britney that she had not gotten rid of her dolls and journals. She shared a slideshow of pictures of the toy collection, emphasizing how much they mean to her and how special the possessions are to both of them after years of collecting. Lynne also offered to send them to Britney if she wanted, ending with a message of love.

Britney took to Instagram to address her mother's claims, revealing that she only spotted "3 dolls in the cabinets" during her last visit home 2 years ago. She found it unsettling that the dolls were moved around and then placed back, stating, "so messed up." She also turned down her mother's offer to ship the dolls, expressing, "Nope, I don't want them. Keep it all. I honestly don't care anymore ... honestly though."
