Britney Spears has been actively engaged in various endeavors since the termination of her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021. During the conservatorship, the renowned pop icon lacked the autonomy to make independent choices regarding both her personal matters and finances, as they required the consent of her conservators. Among these conservators was her father, Jamie Spears, until his withdrawal from the role in September 2021.

After the judge terminated the arrangement, Britney embarked on various new creative endeavors. She wrote her memoir, titled "The Woman in Me," scheduled to be available in October 2023. Additionally, she released new music for the first time in several years.

Alongside her career advancements, Britney took a significant step forward in her personal life. In June 2022, she exchanged vows with Sam Asghari. Previously, Britney was briefly married to Jason Alexander in 2004 and then to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007. During her marriage to Federline, she had two sons named Preston and Jayden, born in 2005 and 2006, respectively.

Elton John Collaboration

In August 2022, Britney teamed up with the celebrated musician known as the "Rocket Man" for a track called "Hold Me Closer." This song was a fresh take on some of John's iconic tunes, including "Tiny Dancer." It was a momentous occasion for Britney as it marked her return to releasing new music, the first time since her 2016 album, Glory. Showing her excitement, Britney shared a video on social media to acknowledge the song's success, as it debuted impressively at number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

She exclaimed in a British accent, "Hello Sir Elton John, we've reached the top spot in 40 countries! Unbelievable!" She further mentioned that she was about to embark on the most amazing day. As for John, he expressed his immense excitement about collaborating with Britney on the song when speaking to The Guardian in August 2022.

“Because if it is a significant success, and I believe it has the potential to be, it will greatly boost her confidence beyond what she currently possesses. She will come to realize that she is truly adored and cared for by people, who genuinely want her happiness,” he informed the outlet. “Due to her extended absence, there is a deep sense of apprehension stemming from numerous betrayals she has experienced. Additionally, the fact that she hasn't officially been in the public eye for such a prolonged period has contributed to this fear.”

‘Mind Your Business’

In July 2023, Britney and will.i.am. teased the upcoming release of their single "Mind Your Business."

Captioning an Instagram post on July 17, the Black Eyed Peas musician exclaimed, "Uh oh!!! This summer is going to be sizzling!!" The post included an audio snippet of the song. At the conclusion of the clip, Spears revived her iconic catchphrase from her 2007 track "Gimme More" with the words "Britney, bitch."

Britney and will.i.am. previously collaborated on “Big Fat Bass,” “Scream and Shout” and “It Should Be Easy.”
