The police performed a wellness check on Britney Spears after the video of her dancing with knives was reported, We can confirm.
Captain Dean Worthy from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office expressed concern for Britney's mental well-being after someone close to her brought attention to a video on social media. The video showed Britney dancing and twirling with knives in her hands. Captain Worthy, who has dealt with previous incidents involving Britney, shared this information on September 28. The call was made by an anonymous person who has a close connection to the singer, and the department's sergeant conducted a wellness check after verifying their credibility.
"We typically do not engage with fans reporting concerns about a celebrity unless we deem the threat to be credible," stated the officer. "Nevertheless, we conducted a thorough assessment of this individual in collaboration with the LAPD, and we concluded that they have a personal connection with Britney."
Using the intercom, the authorities communicated with Spears' security team at her residence in Thousand Oaks, California, reassuring them that she was safe and that there were no issues. "The security team declined the officer's request for physical access to Britney," Worthy further explained.
The authorities also had a conversation with Spears' lawyer, and Worthy's team confirmed that Spears was not in any danger.
"We won't enter the residence if there's no criminal activity," Worthy explained to Us. "It's not a crime to be a threat to oneself. We believe we fulfilled our responsibilities by responding to the situation and talking to two individuals close to her who assured us that she's doing well."
