In her upcoming memoir, The Woman in Me, Britney Spears discusses her desire to start a family with her now-estranged husband Sam Asghari. According to a source, the 41-year-old singer expresses her excitement upon discovering her pregnancy in early 2022. Spears shares her long-standing eagerness to begin a family with Asghari, 29, even before their marriage last summer.

Despite her excitement, Spears expressed feeling scared due to her past experiences with depression during her previous pregnancies with ex-husband Kevin Federline. However, Asghari's support gave her the confidence to overcome the challenges.

In April 2022, Spears announced on Instagram that she and Asghari were expecting their first child together. Unfortunately, one month later, they shared the heartbreaking news of a devastating miscarriage.

“Although it may have been wiser to wait before making the announcement, our excitement got the better of us and we couldn't help but share the wonderful news. Our love for one another is our source of strength,” they stated together on social media. “We will persist in our efforts to expand our beautiful family. Following her pregnancy loss, Spears sought solace and clarity in music, using it as a means of escape through singing and dancing, as mentioned in her book.
