Britney Spears (alongside Will.i.am) is back with another collaboration called "Mind Your Business." The artists, aged 41 and 48 respectively, released the energetic and assertive track on Friday, July 21st, shortly after teasing a preview of the song on Instagram.

"I am both honored and thrilled for this release," the ex-member of Black Eyed Peas expressed in the caption for the teaser posted on Wednesday, July 18. Appreciation goes out to @britneyspears, as you are one of the most courageous, resilient, kind-hearted, and genuine individuals I have ever encountered in my life. My admiration for our collaboration remains unwavering."

Without delay, Spears delivers a powerful message to her detractors through the song: "Mind your own business, bitch." She further elaborates in her verse, "From uptown to downtown, wherever I go / In Hollywood and in London, the snapping sound of paparazzi surrounds / They capture me on camera, as I contribute to the economy / Follow me, follow me, follow me, follow, follow me."

Both musicians allude to the experience of living in the spotlight. "I'm tired of people constantly gazing at me, as if I'm a sensation they must observe," complains Will.i.am. "The police are constantly monitoring my every action, every step I take and every breath I make."

"Mind Your Business" is the second collaboration between Spears and Will.i.am, following their successful 2012 hit, "Scream & Shout." The song achieved triple platinum status in the United States and reached an impressive 1 billion views on YouTube in May.

In addition to her collaboration with Elton John, titled "Hold Me Closer," which was released in 2022, this track serves as Britney Spears' first solo release of the year. This particular song creatively incorporates elements from several of John's songs, including "Tiny Dancer." It marked Spears' return to the music scene after the conclusion of her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021.

Just a month after the conservatorship ended, she openly shared the reasons behind her extended absence from the industry.

"Following the traumatic experiences I have endured, I now have a deep fear of people and the industry," Spears expressed on social media. "They have caused me immeasurable pain. Choosing to no longer pursue my music is a way for me to assert my independence and disregard their exploitation of my talent. In a way, it feels like I am unconsciously allowing them to achieve victory."

Despite the challenges she has faced, Britney has experienced numerous highlights in her life since the end of the conservatorship. These include her marriage to Sam Asghari and reconciling with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. However, it was shortly after another newsworthy event, where she was inadvertently struck in the face by a member of NBA star Victor Wembanyama's security team, that "Mind Your Business" was released.

Earlier this month, Britney took to Instagram to reveal that she attempted to grab the attention of the 19-year-old San Antonio Spurs player in a hotel lobby, only to be assaulted by his security guard.

"I have faced many traumatic experiences in my life, and unfortunately, last night added to that list. I was completely unprepared for what occurred," shared Britney, who is set to release her memoir, The Woman in Me, this autumn. "While making my way to dinner, I spotted an athlete in the hotel lobby whom I recognized. Later on, I crossed paths with him once again at a different hotel's restaurant. I made the decision to approach him and extend my congratulations on his accomplishments."

She explained, "As he walked away, his security forcefully struck me on the face in front of a crowd, almost knocking me down and causing my glasses to fall off my face."

Despite Britney's effort to file a police report, a trusted source informed us that she lacks the authority to pursue legal action against the guard. No charges were pressed against the security team member.
