Ahsoka star Eman Esfandi recently discussed his approach to portraying the Star Wars character Ezra Bridger in live-action. In a video posted on the official Star Wars social media accounts, Esfandi shared his deep connection to Ezra and the respect he felt while bringing the character to life. He described Ezra as a young but resilient individual who has grown into a stronger Jedi, thanks to the support of his team and Rebels crew, whom he still considers as family. Esfandi's passion and understanding of the character are evident, as he successfully portrays the older version of Ezra in the upcoming Ahsoka series, which takes place ten years after the events of Star Wars: Rebels. In this time, Ezra has noticeably evolved in wisdom and mastery of the force.

In Rebels, Ezra Bridger, a young orphan boy, lived in solitude on the planet Lothal. One day, he is discovered by Kanan Jarrus, a Jedi Knight, who decides to mentor him due to his impressive skills. Together with the captain of the Ghost crew, Hera Syndulla, the Lasat warrior Zeb Orrelios, the rebellious Mandalorian Sabine Wren, and the droid Chopper, Ezra becomes a part of the Rebels' family.
Ezra's journey in Rebels is challenging as he faces the temptation of the Dark Side when encountering Maul and the Emperor. Taking on a leadership role in the absence of his Master, Ezra finds himself torn between the light and darkness. Eventually, he rediscovers his path and bravely confronts Grand Admiral Thrawn, sacrificing himself to ensure the safety of his loved ones. Using the Purrgil, Ezra transports Thrawn and his forces to a distant part of the galaxy. Before parting ways, he entrusts Sabine with the task of finding and saving him, and now she has fulfilled her mission.
