Chelsea are on the verge of securing the acquisition of Tyler Adams, as they have successfully triggered the £20m release clause in the contract of the Leeds midfielder.
According to a reliable source from We News, it has been revealed that the USA international is scheduled for a medical examination within the following 24 hours, in anticipation of his imminent transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Adams signed for Leeds from RB Leipzig for a fee of around £20m last summer but suffered relegation with the club in his first season.

Chelsea want to sign two midfielders before the transfer window closes on September 1 and made a £48m bid for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia on Wednesday.
The Blues have made multiple unsuccessful offers for Moises Caicedo from Brighton, with the most recent bid amounting to £80m. Brighton, who consider Caicedo's value to be £100m, saw him absent from their last pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano due to ongoing rumors about his potential departure.
Caicedo wants to join Chelsea and Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi admits he does not know if he will still be at the club come the end of the window.

Romeo Lavia is a target for Chelsea and Liverpool
Chelsea have made a £48m bid for Lavia and talks with Southampton could accelerate in the next 24 hours.
Although Southampton is likely to reject the offer due to their insistence on a £50m valuation, it is close enough that further negotiations between the clubs may be possible. Liverpool's attempts to secure Lavia have been unsuccessful thus far, with three bids being turned down, the most recent of which was valued at approximately £45m.
Chelsea is actively seeking to bolster their midfield by acquiring two new players prior to the closure of the transfer window at the month's end. They have made offers for both Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Tyler Adams from Leeds. Lavia, who joined Southampton from Manchester City last summer, still has four years remaining on his contract.
The Belgium international is likely to depart as Southampton faced relegation from the Premier League in the previous season. Lavia did not make an appearance during Southampton's victory against Sheffield Wednesday on the season's initial weekend and was also not included in the squad for the Carabao Cup loss to Gillingham on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, as the transfer window opens on June 14 and closes at 11pm on September 1 in England and midnight in Scotland, speculation arises regarding who will be on the move this summer. Additionally, Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse is poised to undergo a medical at West Ham after the clubs have successfully reached a full agreement.
